Bringing Happiness by Exchanging Mukena (Prayer Cloth for Women) and Sajadah (Prayer Rug) for The Elderly on Welcoming Ramadhan

BOGOR – Ramadhan is coming soon; various ways are being done to welcome it. One of them is to prepare the best place and worship clothes for more solemn worship. The Community Service Institute (LPM) of Dompet Dhuafa runs the Tukar Mukena (exchange women’s cloth) & Tukar Sajadah (prayer rug) program for the elderly and widows of dhuafa, Wednesday (15/2/2023).

This program is carried out by exchanging old or obsolete mukena (prayer women’s cloth) for new ones. This assistance program will be implemented from 11 to 15 February 2023 in Bogor, Depok, and Jakarta. Those beneficiaries enthusiastically and happily welcomed the program. The new prayer equipment, such as mukena, sarongs and prayer rugs, is hoped to improve their worship’s solemnity.

There are still many dhuafa people who need proper mukena and sajadah. It is not easy for the dhuafa people to have proper worship equipment like the one we have at home.

One of them, Menah (60) from Jampang Village, Kemang District, Bogor, works as a farmer worker every day.

“It’s nice to get a new mukena this time. Hopefully, all of us will be healthy on Ramadhan, “she said.

Yoyoh (70) also felt a sense of emotion who lived alone in a semi-permanent house donated by her village’s authority.

“Alhamdulillah, it’s nice to get new mukena and sajadah. Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa and the donors. I pray for blessings,” she said until she could not say any more while holding back her tears.
