DEPOK, WEST JAVA — That morning, at the residence of one of the beneficiaries, Marliyani (49), we saw a big smile on her face. She told us how happy she was after receiving a prosthetic leg from Dompet Dhuafa.
“Alhamdulillah, this helps me to shop at the market and sell cakes. After my leg was amputated, I had difficulty moving. Sometimes I slip when walking down steep slopes. After getting this prosthetic leg, it’s easier for me to move around,” said the mother of two, full of emotion.

Not infrequently, her child, Sharah, also misses school because she has to accompany her mother at certain times. This is because, in certain areas, Marliyani needs someone’s help to push her wheelchair. Despite her limitations, she is not discouraged.
“I am so grateful. If I didn’t have this prosthetic leg, how would I live? I am both mother and father to my two children. Who else provides for the family if not me? It’s a shame for my children if they often have to take time off (school) to help their mother push the wheelchair to the market. Now I have practiced and can walk by myself,” she explained.

In an effort to support people with physical disabilities to facilitate their daily activities, Dompet Dhuafa and its digital partners distributed disability aids again on Wednesday (26/2/2025). The Dompet Dhuafa team visited the homes of two recipients of disability aids in the form of prosthetic legs in Depok, West Java and South Tangerang, Banten on a door-to-door basis.
On this occasion, Dompet Dhuafa echoed the invitation to the wider community to contribute to the happiness of those in need. Through a digital partner platform, Dompet Dhuafa makes it easy to donate, unhindered by space and time.
Muzakir (58) was moved. It has been two years since his leg was amputated and he chose a wheelchair. Although it is helpful, he often finds it difficult to move freely.
“I am very happy. Especially with Ramadan and Eid approaching. It’s been two years since I last visited my older relatives. Yesterday I also tried to use (the prosthetic leg) to the mosque. I was very touched to finally be able to pray in congregation again. Thank you very much, Dompet Dhuafa,” he said.

Luthfah Mutiara Tsany as part of the Dompet Dhuafa Digital Team herself said that this distribution targets beneficiaries who are fairly productive. The goal is to support people with disabilities so that they have proper and equal personal facilities for their daily activities. Moreover, so that they can access public spaces like the general public.
“We hope that these prosthetic legs can ease the burden on them as they earn a living for their families. We also hope that they can make them feel comfortable and safe as they go about their daily activities. Seeing the happy smiles of the beneficiaries receiving assistance, we will strive to keep the disability aid program running so that more and more beneficiaries can be helped,” said Mutiara.
“Praise be to God, the donations from our friends have been delivered. Let’s support equal access for people with disabilities without limits of space and time through the digital partner platform Dompet Dhuafa. Everything is easy! (Dompet Dhuafa)
