Chevy Spin Indonesia Shows Solidarity with Flood and Landslide Survivors in Sumatra

JAKARTA —-— Support for disaster survivors in Sumatra continues to pour in from various segments of society. On Tuesday (March 26, 2026), the Chevy Spin Indonesia automotive community also contributed a humanitarian donation of Rp13,586,541 through Dompet Dhuafa to assist communities affected by the Sumatra disaster. The donation was handed over directly at Dompet Dhuafa’s headquarters, the Philanthropy Building, in South Jakarta.

This donation is the result of a fundraising effort by members of the Chevy Spin Indonesia community, known for promoting a spirit of togetherness through the slogan One CSI One Family. As a community of Chevrolet Spin enthusiasts established in 2013, Chevy Spin Indonesia is not only active in automotive activities but also consistently engages in social initiatives and humanitarian solidarity during various occasions.

A representative of Chevy Spin Indonesia, Sonny, stated that this assistance stems from the spirit of family that has long defined the community’s identity.

“We believe that solidarity does not stop at relationships among community members but must also extend to those facing hardships. This donation is an expression of care from the Chevy Spin Indonesia family for our brothers and sisters in Sumatra. We hope it can help alleviate their needs during the recovery period,” said Sonny Morrison.

Dimas Muttakhin, Community Relations Officer at Dompet Dhuafa, stated that every contribution from the community plays a vital role in strengthening humanitarian response efforts on the ground. He also expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in Chevy Spin Indonesia to carry out this humanitarian mission.

“Alhamdulillah, contributions from the community, such as those from our friends at Chevy Spin Indonesia, demonstrate that social compassion can emerge from various quarters. Insha’Allah, we will channel this trust to support the urgent needs of disaster survivors in Sumatra, particularly during this recovery phase,” said Dimas Muttakhin.

By the end of 2025, several regions in Sumatra faced hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, landslides, and extreme weather, affecting hundreds of thousands of families. These conditions prompted various parties to continue strengthening social solidarity so that the recovery process for affected communities could proceed more quickly.

This collaboration is expected to serve as an inspiration that communities play a significant role in driving social change. Amid post-disaster challenges, mutual aid serves as a vital force to help communities rebuild. (Dompet Dhuafa)
