Collaborating with DuitHape, Dompet Dhuafa Reaches Mustahiq with Technology

JAKARTA – On the second day of the Indonesia Giving Festival (IGF) Zakat Expo 2022, Dompet Dhuafa officially collaborates with DuitHape until the upcoming 2023. This collaboration aims to reach wider mustahiq (zakat beneficiaries) easily and to increase the transparency of Dompet Dhuafa as Lembaga Amil Zakat or LAZ (Amil Zakat Institution).

DuitHape itself is a company that provides digital payment services designed to meet the needs of the poor who do not have bank accounts nor ATM cards. With this collaboration, DuitHape will assist Dompet Dhuafa in distributing ZIS funds to mustahiq through e-payment services.

Although using technology, the process of distributing funds through the DuitHape application will not burden the mustahiq. Because, the mustahiq only need to come to the store that partners with Dompet Dhuafa and bring an e-voucher or PIN, without the need for a gadget to access the application or without the need for having an account number. Furthermore, the mustahiq can shop at the store by showing e-vouchers from Dompet Dhuafa and recording faces only.

This was also explained by the Director of Business Operation of Dompet Dhuafa, Prima Hadi Putra. He explained that in this collaboration, DuitHape provided face recognition technology to assess the accuracy of the mustahiq who deserved to receive the ZIS funds.

“In this case, DuitHape can provide a face record mission for dhuafa. They (the mustahiq) can access the service only by geometric,” said the man who is familiarly called Putra.

Even so, the mustahiq are not required to have gadgets to be able to shop with e-vouchers, because Dompet Dhuafa’s partner stores will provide the DuitHape application. Thus, the mustahiq only need to show the e-voucher and perform a face scan. For the provision of the e-voucher number itself, previously Dompet Dhuafa has collected data and has a database of the mustahiq consisting of names, addresses, and Nomor Induk Kependudukan or NIK (National Identity Numbers).

“So actually, we create the data of the mustahiq first, then we give them access even though they don’t have cellphones,” said Putra.

“The Beneficiaries System Information which records the dhuafa by names, by addresses, then also by NIK,” he added.

For your information, since its establishment in 1993, Dompet Dhuafa has distributed the trust of the people and has provided benefits to 31 million mustahiq throughout Indonesia. Meanwhile in 2022, nearly 3 million people have become beneficiaries of Dompet Dhuafa.

The benefits provided are not only distributed through one field, but also through the five pillars of Dompet Dhuafa, they are: education, health, economy, social, as well as religious lecture (da’wah) and culture. Among the five pillars, the social pillar is the one that provides the most benefits to the mustahiq.

“The social pillar is the pillar that contributes the most to the beneficiaries, one of which is through the Tebar Hewan Kurban (Sacrificial Animal Stocking) program,” said Putra.
