BANTEN — Dompet Dhuafa Banten collaborates with the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten (SMH) for the Economic Empowerment Program, namely the Container Canteen. This agreement is stated in the MoU signed on Thursday (10/8/2023) in the Meeting Room of the Dean of FEBI UIN SMH Banten.
Present on the occasion were Dean of FEBI, Prof. Dr. Hj. Nihayatul Masykuroh, M.Si; Branch Head of Dompet Dhuafa Banten, Mokhlas Pidono; Vice Dean I and III; Head of Sharia Economics Department; Head of Sharia Banking Department; Head of Administration Division; and Program Team of Dompet Dhuafa Banten.
In her speech, the Dean of FEBI UIN “SMH” Banten stated that this synergy is very good in order to realize FEBI’s big vision and goals, that is students are able to apply their knowledge and not just know theory. She also stated that it was her dream to try to give the best for her students, especially helping underprivileged students.

“The food container program or Kantin Kontainer (Canteen Container) aims to help students in need. Of course it is a good thing, because it will be a means of direct practice for students to learn and not just theory, they can also earn from selling at this Container Canteen,” she said.
In line with this, Mokhlas Pidono as the Branch Head of Dompet Dhuafa Banten expressed his appreciation and was very grateful to FEBI UIN “SMH” Banten for the cooperation. According to him, collaboration of kindness will further strengthen and inspire the community to continue to move to carry out programs of kindness.
“This Container Canteen is an economic program, built with the aim that selected students from underprivileged families can earn income from selling in this canteen, so that they can reduce their tuition fees. In addition, this Container Canteen also becomes a direct learning tool for them to apply the knowledge they get theoretically on campus, the support of the Dean and all FEBI entities is very large, we’re very grateful,” said Mokhlas.

Canteen Container is an entrepreneurial scholarship program intended for students who come from underprivileged families. They are entrusted with managing a canteen made of containers. Then, students will get scholarships from the results of the canteen management. Dompet Dhuafa as an empowerment institution is always committed to assisting the community, especially the underprivileged, to become an empowered community.
After this MoU is signed, the next step is to realize the construction of the Container Canteen. This of course must go through the stages that have been prepared before. It is expected that in 2023, the Container Canteen at UIN “SMH” Banten can operate and the benefit recipients as well as students who become consumers can enjoy the benefits of it.
This program is built from zakat funds deposited through Dompet Dhuafa Banten. Thus, let’s perform zakat, because the impact of zakat will be very felt, visible, sustainable, if managed properly and professionally. (Dompet Dhuafa/Banten/Anndini)
