SOUTH SUMATRA —-— To commemorate World TB Day, LKC Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra organized health education activities, TB screenings, and the distribution of nutritional packages to patients. This initiative is part of efforts to raise public awareness about TB, facilitate early detection of TB cases, and provide ongoing support for patients’ treatment.
The TB education and screening session, attended by 73 beneficiaries, was held at the Pagar Dewa Village Multipurpose Hall, Tanjung Agung Subdistrict, Muara Enim Regency, on Friday (April 17, 2026). The health education session, which covered prevention, transmission, and the importance of completing the full course of TB treatment, was delivered by a doctor from the Tanjung Agung Community Health Center.
Meanwhile, the TB screening was conducted by the Dompet Dhuafa LKC South Sumatra Team in collaboration with the Tanjung Agung Community Health Center Team and Posyandu cadres. This was done to reach a wider community while ensuring the process was effective.
As a form of follow-up intervention, Dompet Dhuafa also distributed nutritional packages through direct home visits to the homes of TB patients. In April 2026, eight patients had already benefited from this program.

As part of its ongoing intervention efforts, LKC Dompet Dhuafa also distributes nutrition packages through home visits to TB patients. This month, a total of 8 patients benefited from the program.
“During each visit, the team monitors the patients’ health conditions by checking their medication cards, weighing them, and checking their hemoglobin (Hb) levels. In addition, the team also provides education regarding the importance of adherence to regular medication and emphasizes the role of the family in providing moral support and accompaniment during the treatment process,” explained Tri Hartati, Head of LKC Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatra.

It is hoped that a series of activities like this can increase public knowledge and awareness of tuberculosis.
