Kelas Humas Muda is a series of knowledge-sharing events, especially aimed at students and professionals who want to develop skills in the field of communication, according to the latest issues and trends. This year the Young Public Relations Class prepared 3 classes, starting with Class Vol.1 ‘Public Speaking in Your Area’. Taking place at La Boheme, Central Jakarta on Saturday (07/20/2024), the workshop involved three qualified speakers in the field of communication. In the program, participants were also invited to take concrete steps to support the struggle of honorary teachers across the country.
“Through this series of activities, Kelas Humas Muda wants to create a community with a wide network coverage, build a quality young public relations figure in facing global challenges in communication practice, and provide a choice of edutainment events for people who are eager to gain insight,” said the initiator of Kelas Humas Muda, Reylando Eka Putra.
Unlike other workshops or seminars, the Young Public Relations Class prioritizes a combination of education, networking, entertainment, and charity in every agenda.
Thus, participants not only gain knowledge from experienced speakers, but also have the opportunity to hone and improve interpersonal skills to build collaboration, which is packed with a spice of exciting activities. In each class, participants are also invited to care about social humanitarian issues, and take concrete steps through cooperation with formal platforms as part of the Young Public Relations Class.
“This year we are working on 3 agendas. The ‘Public Speaking in Your Area’ class in July, the ‘Good Story Good Brand’ Story Telling class in September, and the Digital Public Relations class in November,” added Reylando.
He also underlined that the selection of speakers was supported by various considerations, in order to represent various points of view, representing practitioners, academics, entrepreneurs, influencers.
These three speakers not only have a mature public relations background, but are also practitioners with rich experience. Their collaboration is believed to be able to present the right material, and help participants create confidence in building effective communication skills.
“In the ‘Public Speaking in Your Area’ class, we are very fortunate to be able to gain a lot of knowledge and share experiences from Dita Guritno (Co-Founder and Chief of Content INSPIGO), Hery Kurniawan (Head Corporate Communication CIMB Niaga, Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Public Relations Association/BPP Perhumas), and Prima Alvernia (host and ex-TV One News Anchor),” Reylando explained.
One of the inaugural class speakers, Hery Kurniawan, expressed his appreciation for being involved in the Young Public Relations Class series of activities.
“Communication knowledge and practices are a necessity in all professions and industries, all will process and one of the tips is through classes like this, hopefully we can contribute in answering these needs. Seeing the extraordinary enthusiasm of the participants, I am optimistic that the Indonesian Young Public Relations community will continue to grow, with personal qualities that can compete in the global arena,” he said.
Around 50 participants actively participated in all the activities held, which were closed with entertainment from stand-up comedy Irawan Raharja and music from DJ Kissya, as well as networking sessions. In addition, this inaugural event also received full support from Perum Bulog, public relations consultant UPPR, Thenblank, La Boheme, Frisian Flag, Nutrifood and various communities who became partners of the activity.
