NORTH SUMATRA —-— Dompet Dhuafa Waspada has once again distributed humanitarian aid to mustahik. This time, the aid was given to Ilhamsyah (52), a former truck driver who had an accident that resulted in the loss of his left leg. Now, Ilham can only stay at his house on H.M. Joni Street. Dompet Dhuafa has successfully provided assistance in the form of a wheelchair and cash on Tuesday (4/5/2022).
The head of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, Sulaiman, said that this donation was distributed with the help of donors who had set aside some of their wealth to help the poor in need. “Of course, what has been donated to us must be distributed immediately. As its purpose is to help our brothers and sisters who are in dire need, especially during this month of great blessings,” he said.
In short, Ilhamsyah lost his left leg in an accident in 2019. Since then, he has had to seek shelter here and there and even beg to make ends meet. Sadly, he lives alone, with no one to accompany him except kind people who care. For this reason, he expressed his gratitude and thanks to the Dompet Dhuafa donors who have been willing to help him.
“I am grateful because I can be active again with this wheelchair,” he said.
At the end of the meeting, he hopes that Dompet Dhuafa Waspada can continue to commit to helping the poor like him and others in need out there. “May Dompet Dhuafa succeed and continue to help people in need like us, and may Allah subhana wa taala always bless them,” he concluded.
