MEDAN, NORTH SUMATERA — To maintain transparency and accountability as a zakat institution that obeys the law of the country, Dompet Dhuafa is committed, together with the regulator, to providing benefits to the poor. This can be seen from the submission of the semester report by Dompet Dhuafa Waspada to the Ministry of Religion of North Sumatra Province, on Thursday (01/09/2022).

This semester report was submitted directly by the Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, Sulaiman, and received by the Head of Zakat and Waqf of the North Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, Mhd. Asrul. Representing the North Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office, Mhd. Asrul said that this was one of the benchmarks for seeing the development of the Amil Zakat Institution.

“Every year we receive reports from Dompet Dhuafa Waspada. Every year they are disciplined in submitting reports,” he said.

Asrul also said that what Dompet Dhuafa Waspada does can motivate others. In addition, Asrul also hopes that Dompet Dhuafa Waspada can continue to improve its achievements in distributing the trust of donors to those in need.

“The hope is that this can motivate others and also Dompet Dhuafa Waspada itself to be better able to improve its achievements in distributing to the mustahik,” said the Head of Zakat and Waqf of the North Sumatra Ministry of Religion.

Upon receipt of this report, Sulaiman, representing the entire Dompet Dhuafa Waspada family, expressed his gratitude to the North Sumatra Ministry of Religious Affairs. “We would also like to thank the Ministry of Religious Affairs of North Sumatra for appreciating and continuing to give us their support, not only in relation to reports but also with regard to other synergies,” he said.

He was also grateful for being able to routinely compile and submit reports to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which is one of the obligations of a National Zakat Institution (LAZNAS).

“Hopefully we can remain consistent in sending reports to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Because this is one way how we can continue to maintain our mandate and become even better in the future,” concluded Sulaiman. (Dompet Dhuafa / Waspada)
