BOGOR —–— The Disaster Management Center (DMC) of Dompet Dhuafa, along with dozens of joint search personnel, participated in the search for victims buried by a landslide in Kampung Pasir Pogor, Cipelang Village, Cijeruk District, Bogor Regency, on Sunday (05/22/2022). Previously, heavy rainfall in the area caused the landslide to occur on Saturday (May 21, 2022) at around 5:00 p.m. local time, burying two houses. The incident resulted in nine fatalities.
Five victims survived, while the other four were found dead. The four victims were identified as D (M/43), N (M/4), U (F/70), and E (F/24).
“We found the victims this afternoon after the joint SAR team suspected the area around the location of the incident. After digging, we confirmed that the victims were indeed at that location,” said Hendra Sudirman, S.E., M.Si., Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation.
He also stated that the victims would be immediately evacuated and identified, and then handed over to their families for proper burial. The joint search team had made every effort by deploying personnel and equipment in the field from Saturday (May 21, 2022) evening to Sunday (May 22, 2022) afternoon, using extraction equipment to access the victim buried by the landslide, then digging and evacuating the victim.
“We mourn the loss of the victims and their families due to this landslide disaster. May the victims rest in peace, may all their good deeds be accepted by Allah, and may their families be given the strength to face all this,” said Haryo Mojopahit, Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa, in a short message.
Information from the families of the survivors indicated that at the time of the incident, all the victims being searched for were inside the house. The team then made a sketch of the house and determined the possible location of the victims.
Following that, the search process continued using search and extraction tools such as the Landslide Searching Stick, Chipping Hammer, Rotary Saw, Comby Tool, and Alcon, enabling all victims of the landslide to be located. (Dompet Dhuafa / DMC / Fajar)
