DMC Intensifies Tree Almsgiving at Asia’s Biggest Outdoor & Adventure Event

JAKARTA — According to Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BCCI), 30 percent of the world’s trees are threatened with extinction. Irresponsible human activity poses a threat to life on earth. Around 17,500 tree species in the world are threatened with extinction due to logging, which has led to the climate crisis.
The clearing of forest land for plantations is considered to be a major threat. Trees are the backbone of natural ecosystems; without trees, humans will not be able to survive.

With the theme “Spirit of New Journey”, Indonesia Outdoor Festival (INDOFEST) 2022. Southeast Asia’s Biggest Outdoor & Adventure exhibition, is collaborating with Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) and carrying out the Tree Almsgiving campaign for tree planting in drought-prone and disaster-prone areas. “Let’s participate together in the Tree Almsgiving Collaboration program by planting trees to protect the world’s lungs from extinction. One Tree From You, Help Green Your Surrounding Environment,” explained Haryo Mojopahit as the Chief Executive of the DMC of Dompet Dhuafa.

In addition, INDOFEST 2022 and Dompet Dhuafa DMC will present an interactive talk show with Chiki Fawzi Super Volunteer Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Baihaqi as Community Resilience and Advocacy Manager of Dompet Dhuafa DMC, and Yudhi Darmawan as Muslim Content Creator. Dompet Dhuafa Domestic Market Center also provides a mosque for visitors to perform prayers.

Visitors can visit the Dompet Dhuafa DMC’s booth located at Blok G No.3 Hall B JCC Senayan. Visitors can see the good programs that the Dompet Dhuafa DMC has carried out and is carrying out. Through this booth, people can also register to become disaster management volunteers for the Dompet Dhuafa DMC.
