Dompet Dhuafa and Batik Trusmi Explore Collaboration to Support the Construction of 1,000 Rumtara Houses in Sumatra

JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa warmly welcomed the visit of Sally Giovanny, owner of Batik Trusmi, at the Philanthropy Building in South Jakarta on Thursday (January 22, 2026). The visit discussed plans for collaboration on a temporary housing program for survivors of flash floods in Sumatra and explored programs to be implemented during Ramadan 1447 AH.

“Insha’Allah, we will collaborate and focus on the recovery of disaster victims in Aceh. We also discussed several Ramadan programs that, insha’Allah, will be beneficial for everyone, especially the underprivileged,” said the owner of Batik Trusmi.

Sally Giovanny revealed that this collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa is not the first. Previously, in 2015, she was involved in the Panggung Inspirasi (Inspiration Stage) event, and in the same year she was invited to be a speaker at the Pesta Wirausaha (Entrepreneurship Party) by Dompet Dhuafa Hong Kong.

“Dompet Dhuafa is a very trusted philanthropic institution that has been around for 32 years. I believe DD will continue to grow and benefit many people,” she said.

The young entrepreneur hopes to synergize various beneficial programs in the future.

“We want to build shelters for disaster victims and schools. For Ramadan, we have a program to buy goods from the poor, and many other new programs. Hopefully, we can all collaborate and work together,” he said.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, Etika Setiawanti; General Manager (GM) of Marketing Communication, Suci Nuzleni Qadarsih; Chair of Ramadan 1447 H Dompet Dhuafa, Sulis Tiqomah; Deputy Corporate Secretary, Dian Mulyadi; Retail Fundraising Manager, Yudha Andilla; and International Partnership Specialist, Selvy Safitri.

Etika Setiawanti hopes that the collaboration with Sally can be realized soon. According to her, Sally Giovanny shares the same vision and mission because she loves doing social activities.

“Coincidentally, Dompet Dhuafa is currently focusing on the recovery program and is in the process of building 1,000 Rumtara, renovating houses, and providing emergency schools for disaster victims in Sumatra,” she said.

The Secretary of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation stated that Sally Giovanny was one of the initiators of the Inspiration Stage in 2015. The event brought together entrepreneurs and motivators. The outcome was the formation of the Indonesia Berdaya movement.

“From there, donations were collected, which have now been transformed into a pineapple farm empowerment program and a communal pineapple processing industry in Subang,” said Etika.
