JAKARTA — After being postponed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dompet Dhuafa together with the Jofisah community held a religious lecture titled “God, I’m in Love” on Saturday (September 24, 2022). Held at the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque in Kebayoran, the event featured speakers Ustadz Alfie Alfandy (Founder of Bikers Dakwah), Ustadz Muhammad Syafi’i (Dompet Dhuafa), and Dodi Hidayatullah (Muslim Influencer).
In his lecture, Ust. Alfie Alfandy said that people who are obedient to Allah SWT have no reason not to pray and always involve Allah SWT in everything.
“Such as istikharah prayer, matters of soulmates, work, parents, any decision, then perform istikharah prayer, ask Allah, always involve Allah, so that we will always be safe in this world and the hereafter,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the next section, Ust. Muhammad Syafi’i explains another way of giving love, especially to the Creator as a form of obedience to Allah SWT.
“Wakaf is one of the investments where, even after we have passed away, the rewards continue to flow. As the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, there are three deeds whose rewards continue to flow: (1) ongoing charity, (2) beneficial knowledge, and (3) a righteous child who prays for their parents. Wakaf falls under ongoing charity,” explained Ust. Muhammad Syafi’i.
He also explained that giving waqf does not have to be in large amounts or something big.
“The MUI issued a fatwa allowing waqf in the form of money and waqf through money. The method is to make a donation with a small amount, such as one person donating Rp100,000 per month, multiplied by 10,000 people, resulting in Rp1 billion. Dompet Dhuafa has established seven waqf hospitals and waqf schools. Imagine if we have waqf hospitals, waqf schools, waqf hotels—everything is waqf—then the community is assured,” he explained further.

The study was held as part of an educational initiative for teenagers, focusing on understanding feelings of love and providing tips on how to remain steadfast as devout Muslim men and women. At the end of the event, Dompet Dhuafa also distributed several quiz prizes in the form of hooded jackets to participants in various categories, including the best questioner, the participant from the farthest location, and the first three registrants.
