JAKARTA — Dompet Dhuafa held CSV (Creating Shared Value) Connect 2023 on Thursday (31/8/2023). Titled “Towards Business Model with Social Impact in Indonesia”, the agenda took place from 10.00 to 17.00 WIB at The Ice Palace, Lotte Shopping Avenue, South Jakarta. CSV Connect 2023 is here as a space for companies to share views, knowledge, and experiences to optimize further sustainable CSV implementation that impacts society and the company.
Opening the event, the Secretary of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, Yayat Supriyatna, said that CSV is a development of the implementation of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Dompet Dhuafa’s journey began by providing grants with the aim of social assistance, this is CSR.
“Even when 30 years ago the term CSR was not yet known, Dompet Dhuafa has done that model. Now growing empowering in various fields, Dompet Dhuafa also does that model. Actually, we have entered the CSV phase, increasing economic and social value,” said Yayat in his speech.
CSV offers a holistic framework between profit, people, and the planet. Elkington, through his book entitled “Accounting for The Triple Bottom Line” said that a good company does not only pursue economic benefits (profit), but also must have concern for environmental sustainability (planet), and welfare (people).
Today, the role of business in society has grown rapidly with different approaches and goals. Along with the times, the paradigm of realizing social and environmental responsibility must also have implications for the company’s sustainability in the future. So, companies must integrate interests economically and carry out their social and environmental responsibilities (Manan, 2020).
This concept is also a strategic step for the company because it provides competitive advantages through community activities that can create long-term sustainability. CSV Connect 2023 is a space to share views by various parties present, both from the government, practitioners, companies, and social institutions/NGOs, on the important role of Creating Shared Value (CSV) implementation in integrating community issues and challenges into economic and social value creation for companies in Indonesia.

In line with this, the Director of Resource Mobilization of Dompet Dhuafa, Etika Setiawanti, in her presentation, explained the importance of collaboration in implementing CSV together. According to her, CSV can win the competition, become the advantage of the company’s business strategy, be more proactive, have economic and social value, and across the whole form.
“CSV can add and complement the value of a brand, which is to answer the challenges of changing technology and consumer behaviour. In social issues, young people move into trends. This is a business opportunity that reinforces the brand’s competitive reasons. Then by involving the public, the brand does not move alone, this is a value. Of course, all are portfolios that become good brand stories and will impact better trust. Products play a role in contributing to change to create public trust,” explained Etika.
“Dompet Dhuafa prepares opportunities through digital partnerships, collaboration in distributing corporate social funds, social partnerships, and marketing partnerships,” she added.
