Jakarta: On Saturday (22/4/2023) early morning, coinciding with 1 Shawwal 1444 H, Dompet Dhuafa recorded that the accumulation of obligatory charity (zakat) and humanitarian funds during Ramadan 1444 H/2023 AD increased by 11.9 percent from the previous year’s Ramadan collection.
Director of Resource Mobilization of Dompet Dhuafa, Etika Setiawanti, said the above record is a positive trend for collection in 2023. This data means that people’s generosity is increasingly showing a positive trend. This data aligns with World Giving Index data, which states that Indonesians have become the most generous society in the world for five consecutive years.

This data is evident from the increase in donor participants, which increased by 106.1 per cent from the previous year. Gen-Z dominates the record. In addition, the awareness of every individual and community to play an active role in solving social, economic, health, educational, da’wah & cultural problems continues to grow.
This growth is also supported by various programs rolled out by Dompet Dhuafa during Ramadan. Five pillars of distribution programs are spread across various regions of Indonesia, including economic, health, educational, social, da’wah & cultural programs.
“Alhamdulillah, the growth of donor participation, which strengthened to 106.1 per cent is a form of our gratitude. Community generosity shows a positive trend which records growth in collection of 11.9 per cent,” said Etika Setiawanti in a press release Saturday (22/4/2023).

Then another factor is to maximize the Dompet Dhuafa network to distribute to remote parts of the country, whether organ or branch network, this network is solely to expand the range of beneficiaries of each program.
“Until now, the Dompet Dhuafa team continues to distribute the trust from the donors (muzaki) to those entitled. God willing, until later before the deadline for distributing zakat fitrah, before Eid prayers,” said the Head of Ramadan Dompet Dhuafa 2023, Suci N. Qadarsih.

During this year’s fasting month, Dompet Dhuafa distributed many programs to 34 provinces and 14 countries. The program consists of Spreading obligatory charity (Zakat Fitrah), Shopping with Orphans, Ramadhan Parcel, distributing iftar and Suhoor meals, MSME Merchandise Wholesale, visiting Ramadhan Village, Homecoming Services, Dai Cordofa, Dai Ambassador, Cianjur Earthquake Relief, Turkey and Syria, and many other programs.
On the same occasion, the Chairman of Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa Republika, Rahmad Riyadi, expressed his gratitude to all donors, partners, volunteers, collectors of obligatory charity (amils), and all parties involved in this Islamic philanthropic activity.
