JAKARTA – Thousands of people attended the Joint Action of the Indonesian People’s Alliance for Palestine (ARI-BP), supported by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), to participate in the Grand Action to Save Gaza from Starvation at the Monas Square, Jakarta, Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Dompet Dhuafa was present to provide support in every mass action in defense of Palestine as a form of concern.
Today, Dompet Dhuafa’s Darling (Mobile Kitchen) service distributed various foods and beverages to the participants. A variety of items were distributed, including bread, fruits, kebuli rice, mineral water, fruit juice, coffee, and tea. Approximately 3,000 packages were provided this morning to assist the attendees.

Hendra Setia, the team coordinator, stated that the presence of Darling Dompet Dhuafa is a concrete expression of our concern for the Palestinian people’s struggle. In this Monas area, we witnessed thousands of people gathered and enthusiastically praying with great spirit despite the intense heat of the morning sun.
Dompet Dhuafa is not merely present; it has also opened a space for humanitarian dialogue at the event site by disseminating public education about the food crisis in Gaza. Volunteers are distributing informational brochures and encouraging participants to contribute further through donations or digital solidarity campaigns.
A number of Islamic leaders and high-ranking state officials attended this Grand Action to Defend Palestine. Among them were Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta, Indonesian Deputy Minister of Housing Fahri Hamzah, Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives’ Special Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Relations Mardani Ali Sera, MUI Chairman Prof. Sudarnoto and KH. Muhammad Cholil Nafis, Chair of the ARI-BP Steering Committee Prof. Din Syamsuddin, Executive Chair KH. M. Zaitun Rasmin, Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS), Ustaz Bachtiar Nasir (UBN), and Chairman of the Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI) Habib Muhammad bin Husein Alatas.
This action is a form of solidarity from the Indonesian people toward the suffering of the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza. Dompet Dhuafa hopes that every form of support, no matter how small, can be part of a significant change in the struggle for the human rights of the Palestinian people. (Dompet Dhuafa)
