JAKARTA —-— On Tuesday (April 28, 2026), Dompet Dhuafa once again dispatched its delegation alongside the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) from Indonesia to Turkey to join the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 humanitarian mission. The delegation consists of Herman Budianto Sudarsono and Ronggo Wirasanu, along with three other participants and one media crew member, who will join the GSF 2.0 maritime contingent.
Through this humanitarian mission, Dompet Dhuafa reaffirms its role, support, and voice of solidarity for Palestine. This movement also aims to break the humanitarian blockade in Gaza, while simultaneously promoting a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian conflict through international forums.
“This is a global movement of all nations that understand the importance of the humanitarian struggle due to the extraordinarily devastating genocide occurring in Palestine. The existence of the GSF is an effort by the global community to seek an alternative through another route—the sea. The first successful entries occurred in 2008 and 2010. The challenges were indeed significant, requiring intellectual, spiritual, and physical preparation; now we are undertaking this effort again in 2025 and currently in 2026,” stated Herman Budianto, a Dompet Dhuafa delegate.
Herman also hopes that the global community will become increasingly aware of the situation in Palestine and will continue to unite in heart and action so that our brothers and sisters can receive aid, peace, and, hopefully, the independence we all hope for.

The Global Solidarity Flotilla (GSF) is a global solidarity initiative involving more than 80 civilian ships from various countries, with the primary goal of breaking the Gaza blockade and opening a humanitarian corridor for the Palestinian people. This mission serves as a symbol of global civil resistance against the prolonged humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as well as a moral call to the international community to take more decisive action.
“Palestine desperately needs our attention. As fellow free peoples, we have an international responsibility to stand up for Palestine,” said Bambang Nuroyono, a representative of GPCI.
The GSF 2.0 journey began in Barcelona, serving as the initial departure point for the international maritime convoy on April 12. Subsequently, the fleet joined other ships from Italy on April 26. It is now continuing its journey toward Greece and Turkey as the final consolidation points before approaching the waters off Gaza.
In addition to the maritime convoy, GSF 2.0 also encompasses various global advocacy efforts. On April 22, 2026, a Parliamentary Congress was held in Brussels, bringing together parliamentarians, humanitarian activists, and civil society representatives from various countries.
This forum aims to strengthen international political pressure to end the Gaza blockade and ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians. Indonesia also sent representatives from the MUI, academics, activists, and legal practitioners such as Prof. Sudarnoto, Prof. Heru Susetyo, Wanda Hamidah, Gustika Hatta, Arif Rahmadi Haryono, and Feri Amsari.
Indonesia’s participation in the forum represents a contribution by civil society toward fostering peaceful solutions to various global conflicts that lead to humanitarian crises. Through a cross-national approach of dialogue and collaboration, these delegates are expected to convey Indonesia’s perspective, which upholds the values of justice, humanity, and peace.

Indonesia intends to continue pressuring the Israeli government and its allies to comply with humanitarian law. This pressure is being exerted in various ways: first, through a convoy of humanitarian ships sailing directly through the Gaza blockade; second, via land routes; and third, through international diplomacy.
Via land routes, this mission is further reinforced by a humanitarian land convoy that will depart from Mauritania, gather in Libya on May 7, and proceed together to Gaza. From Indonesia, GPCI participants will depart for Libya on May 5, joining over 1,000 participants from dozens of countries.
The participation of the Indonesian contingent in this mission is a manifestation of the commitment of Indonesian civil society to champion the values of humanity and global justice, in line with the constitutional mandate to reject all forms of colonialism in the world.
“God willing, this mission will become part of history, where Indonesia once again plays a role in breaking the Gaza blockade, and represents Indonesia in the struggle for Palestinian independence,” stated Jajang Nurjaman, a GPCI representative.
The Indonesian contingent is scheduled to join other international participants in Turkey in the coming days, before proceeding to the next phase of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2026 mission.
“The key point of this mission is not the GPCI’s departure, but rather continuing to raise the issue of the Gaza blockade. Especially given the current situation in the Middle East, Gaza seems to be increasingly forgotten. We hope the Indonesian public does not forget to continue fighting for Palestinian independence,” explained Asep, a GPCI representative.

“We ask for the prayers and blessings of the Indonesian people, hoping that the journey and efforts of the Global Sumud Flotilla will be accompanied by ease and safety, leading to the opening of a humanitarian corridor for Gaza,” said Ronggo Wirasanu, a delegate from Dompet Dhuafa.
We must continue to voice and support our spirit of solidarity for Palestine together. Spread the word, strengthen hope, and support the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0, stand with the Palestinian struggle. (Dompet Dhuafa)
