NATUNA, RIAU ISLANDS – Through Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) Natuna and Dompet Dhuafa Riau Islands Branch, Dompet Dhuafa’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) distributed a mandate of assistance in the form of rice and logistics for landslide survivors on Serasan Island, Natuna, Riau Islands Province, on Wednesday (07/03/23).

Other aid distribution will be dispatched today, Wednesday (08/03/23), from Natuna to Serasan Island, which takes about 9 (nine) hours to travel and is carried out using KRI Bontang 907.

“For now, we are sending logistical assistance and a team of 4 people who Insya Allah today departed,” said Sirojuddin, coordinator of DDV Natuna, when contacted via short message.

“We also plan to open a Warm Post there. The team is still waiting for the KRI ship at the port,” continued Sirojuddin.

Entering the third day after the landslide that hit Serasan Island, Natuna, rainy weather is still an obstacle to the process of searching for victims who are still buried and distributing aid.

“Please pray that the journey to Serasan Island will be smooth and the conditions there will improve quickly. Hopefully, there will be no more casualties and follow-ups,” concluded Sirojuddin.
