Dompet Dhuafa Distributes PT Adev’s Zakat to Hundreds of Underprivileged Residents

BOGOR — Cosmetics contract manufacturer PT Adev Natural Indonesia, which specializes in the manufacture of cosmetics and personal care products, collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa to distribute 589 food packages to underprivileged residents in the West Bogor District, Bogor City, on Tuesday (10/28/2025).

The distribution activity, which took place at the Al-Hikmah Mosque in Curugmekar, is part of PT Adev’s 2025 corporate zakat program. The distribution was carried out symbolically with representatives from PT Adev, Dompet Dhuafa, the local government, and the local mosque management board.

This corporate zakat distribution was targeted at communities in the vicinity of the company’s operational area, particularly widows, the elderly, mosque caretakers, and orphaned children from poor and underprivileged backgrounds.

Of the total 589 packages distributed, 240 food packages were given to residents of Curugmekar Village, West Bogor District. This area is the closest to PT Adev’s operations. Meanwhile, hundreds of other packages were distributed to other locations in West Bogor through the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Agency (LPM) team.

For PT Adev Natural Indonesia, corporate zakat is not only a form of social responsibility, but also an obligation that must be fulfilled as part of Islamic teachings. Through zakat, the company is committed to returning a portion of its income to those in need, so that the benefits of the company’s existence are also felt by the surrounding community.

“It is our obligation as a company to pay corporate zakat, as commanded by religion to distribute the company’s income to those in need. Hopefully, what is given can be beneficial to the recipients,” said Alfi Nurzaki, General Manager of PT Adev, in his speech.

This view reflects PT Adev’s commitment to integrating spiritual values and social responsibility into its business practices. Through the distribution of zakat, the company wants to show that business success must also be accompanied by benefits for others.

Nia beneficiary enthusiastically received food packages from Dompet Dhuafa and PT Adev

One of the beneficiaries, Nia Kurniasih (59), is a native of Curugmekar who lives a simple life alone in her house. Every day, she sells small items to make ends meet. Her advanced age and the fact that she lives without a companion make her eligible to receive zakat assistance.

“I live alone and sell goods every day to make ends meet. I have known PT Adev since its inception, and they have helped many residents in the area. Alhamdulillah, this assistance is very helpful,” said Nia.

Through this collaboration, Dompet Dhuafa and PT Adev hope that the company’s zakat activities can alleviate the burden on those in need and strengthen the values of social responsibility and sustainability in the surrounding community. (Dompet Dhuafa)
