Dompet Dhuafa Helps Post Tragedy Handling at Kanjuruhan Stadium

MALANG, EAST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa, through its East Java Branch and the Disaster Management Center (DMC), deployed a response team to help accelerate the primary handling of the chaos aftermath that happened at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Kedungpedaringan Village, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency, on Sunday (02/01/2022) morning.

“We are connected through Dompet Dhuafa East Java and deployed an ambulance at Kanjuruhan Regional Hospital. Therefore, we are ready to mobilize immediately if any of the deceased victims are taken home to the funeral home. We will also provide services to vulnerable groups such as toddlers, children, and the elderly. In addition, along with Forum Zakat (FoZ), we are connected to the Information Post to find missing or injured family members,” explained Haryo Mojopahit, the Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa.

 

Based on a temporary report received by Dompet Dhuafa East Java and DMC, there were 156 deaths. Among them, ten deceased victims have been returned to their families. 85 people are in treatment, and 54 people have already returned home from treatment.

In detail, the victims in the Kanjuruhan Regional Hospital have 3 (three) people died, 50 people are in treatment, and 29 people in treatment have been returned to their homes. Of the victims in the Wava Husada Hospital area, 101 victims died, seven of them have been returned to their families, and 20 people are still in treatment.

 

Meanwhile, victims at Hasta Husada Hospital were 4 (four) people died, ten people are still in treatment, and 25 have been returned to their families post treatment. Of the victims who died in the Teja Husada Clinic area, 34 victims died, three have been taken by their families, and 5 (five) people are in treatment. RSUD DR. Saiful Anwar Malang (RSSA) had 2 (two) victims died, and at the Salcabila Clinic 4 (four) victims died. Next, at Mitra Delima Hospital, four people died, and at Madiva Husada Hospital, 4 victims.

Aside from deploying ambulances, we will also help gather information on the death toll.
