Dompet Dhuafa Holds Halalbihalal: The Spirit of Ramadan Carries On into the 2026 Qurbani Animal Distribution

BOGOR, WEST JAVA —-— Following Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, Dompet Dhuafa held a halalbihalal gathering at the Zona Madina Mosque Hall in Bogor on Tuesday (April 7, 2026). The event served as an opportunity to strengthen bonds of friendship while also symbolizing the transition of the organization’s major programs.

From early morning, all Dompet Dhuafa staff appeared enthusiastic to attend and enliven the gathering by wearing traditional Betawi attire. The choice of this cultural theme was not without reason; for Dompet Dhuafa, culture is one of the key pillars in the management of Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and Wakaf (Ziswaf) funds. In Indonesia, Zakat has become an integral part of the culture, deeply rooted in every aspect of life, particularly for the Muslim community.

The festivities began with the traditional Betawi “Palang Pintu” ritual and prayers led by students from the eTahfidz Green Lido Sukabumi program. The main agenda of the meeting was the handover of responsibilities from the Ramadan 1447 H program to the 2026 Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) program.

Sulis Tiqomah, Chair of Dompet Dhuafa’s Ramadan 2026 Committee, expressed her deepest appreciation to all Dompet Dhuafa staff for their dedication during the past holy month.

“Insha’Allah, we have successfully navigated Ramadan together. We are deeply grateful for the 15.4% growth in fundraising. The benefits of these Ziswaf contributions have been felt by as many as 424,000 beneficiaries. This achievement is the result of the contributions of the amil, all Dompet Dhuafa staff, as well as the guidance from the advisory board, board of directors, and management,” said Sulis.

In a symbolic gesture, Sulis Tiqomah handed over the program baton to Ali Bastoni, who was appointed as Chair of THK 2026. In his brief remarks, Ali Bastoni immediately outlined this year’s ambitious goal.

“The target for this year’s Tebar Hewan Kurban program is 35,000 sheep/goats (doka),” he stated optimistically.

The Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Board of Directors, Ahmad Juwaini, emphasized that the success during the month of Ramadan is a major asset for facing the challenges of THK. He also highlighted the importance of program innovation beyond major annual events.

“Compassion is our overarching theme. The greater our achievements, the greater our opportunity to benefit others. Let us strive together and remain committed to upholding the trust entrusted to us by the community,” said Ahmad Juwaini.

The atmosphere grew even more solemn as the session moved on to the reading of poems on the theme of humanity, presented by the board of directors of the program’s managing partners: Ismail A. Said, Cici Kurnia, Asep, and Ahmad Sonhaji.

In closing, Rahmad Riyadi, a member of the Dompet Dhuafa Board of Trustees, offered some words of wisdom. He reminded everyone that successful fundraising must be accompanied by hard work in the utilization of those funds.

“We must be earnest so that the benefits generated continue to reach more people,” he said.

The event then concluded with a spiritual reflection by Prof. Jawahir, a member of the Sharia Advisory Board, followed by a social gathering and a session of greetings and handshakes among the attendees.
