PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATERA — Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatera held a graduation ceremony for the GenZAKAT scholarship education program with the theme “Realizing a Generation with Leader, Caring, and Rabbani Characters” recently, on Saturday (8/10/2022), located in the main atrium of PTC Mall Palembang.
This activity is the final agenda of the 2021/2022 GenZAKAT scholarship coaching program. A total of 14 beneficiary students attended the graduation this time accompanied by their respective guardians.
The graduation procession began in the morning, starting with remarks from various parties, a tausyiah commemorating the Maulid of the Prophet Muhammad SAW filled by one of Cordofa’s Dai, a graduation badge and closed with shopping together at the farmers market.
“Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatera manages Zakat, Infaq and Alms funds through programs, especially in the field of education, into all segments starting from elementary and junior high school levels in the form of literacy coaching and for high school / vocational levels in the form of genzakat scholarship programs, as well as scholarship programs for younger siblings who do not go to school, namely eTahfizh School, a non-formal school that prepares coaching for pursuing package C, “said Dahliya Oktamia as Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatera Staff in his speech.
Furthermore, Dahliya also thanked all the people who supported Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatera so that it could organize and launch more programs that could help the community.
“Thank you Dompet Dhuafa South Sumatera, there is a lot of knowledge gained while here, learning about leadership, good morals and worship, daring to learn to speak in public, being motivated to write, being taught to get to know one’s own personality better and being given tasks and directions for social global projects that focus on literacy activities in order to provide knowledge and increase interest in reading,” said Erin Fadilah, one of the beneficiaries of the GenZAKAT scholarship.
The graduates and graduates received shopping voucher donations from PTC Mall as part of the PTC program to share love with orphans in the framework of PTC mall’s 18th anniversary.
The GenZakat scholarship program is one of the zakat distribution programs in the field of education in the form of superior resource investment in the form of monthly education funding assistance and leadership character development for high school and equivalent level students who excel among orphans / poor.
