PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATERA — As a form of service to beneficiaries, recipients of aid, and the general public, Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel is maximizing its role in providing humanitarian assistance to the community, including the implementation of a beneficiary service program.
This time, humanitarian aid was distributed consecutively to beneficiaries on Jl Kancil Putih II, Demang Lebar Daun Village, Palembang. Muchtar Aman (48), who is visually impaired, is currently suffering from an ear infection in his left ear diagnosed as tinnitus, on Thursday (September 15, 2022).
“For Mr. Muchtar, we are assisting with the purchase of medications. The medications prescribed by the doctor are not fully covered by BPJS, so all costs are borne by Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel,” explained Andriadi Akbari, a staff member of the Social and Disaster Relief Program at Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel.

The distribution of aid continued with a visit to Aprilia Yanti (20), to help pay for the installment of her first child’s delivery costs at Ar-Rasyid Hospital Palembang, on Friday (9/16/2022) on Jl. Mata Merah, Karya Mulia Village, Sematang Borang, Palembang.
The Mustahik Service provides assistance in accordance with the categories of zakat recipients. These include direct assistance, educational assistance, business capital, medical treatment and medication costs, assistance for those in debt, new converts to Islam, and those fighting in the way of Allah.
“We conduct an assessment for those who apply for assistance to ensure that the aid provided is appropriate. We also provide guidance and monitoring for those who receive assistance,” added Andriadi.

The availability of Mustahik Services, one of which is through direct assistance, aims to keep the spirit of life alive among the beneficiaries. This ensures they never lose hope in their journey through life. Mr. Muchtar and Mrs. Aprilia continue to live with determination despite their economic limitations and disabilities.
“Thank you to all donors; may this be a virtuous deed and a blessing for all of you,” said Muchtar with a smile. (Dompet Dhuafa / South Sumatra)
