PANGANDARAN, WEST JAVA — The spirit of independence on the 77th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence is still strongly felt across the nation, including in Pangandaran District. Various community festivals are held as a expression of gratitude for Indonesia’s freedom from foreign occupation.
Joining in and expanding the benefits, Dompet Dhuafa West Java collaborated with Patriot Desa, the local MUI, and local government agencies to organize a Grand Tabligh and Muharram Parade for orphaned children.

The series of events on Friday (19/08/2022) was held at Alun-Alun Pangbagea, which was inaugurated in February 2022 in Cintakarya Village, Parigi District, Pangandaran Regency.
This collaboration was welcomed by the local residents. It coincided with the celebration of Muharam and also Indonesia’s 77th Independence Day.

“Since this Alun Alun was inaugurated early last year, this is the first and largest collaborative program ever held. Hopefully, this will be a good start for the future. Of course, we are very happy, especially since this is a very good program from Dompet Dhuafa. We hope that this collaboration will continue,” said Ghani as a representative of Patriot Desa.
Some 400 residents gathered to pray together at the mass prayer event held from 8:00 PM to midnight. Earlier, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a series of activities including the distribution of packages to 115 orphaned children and a Muharram procession using traditional carts were also conducted.

“Praise be to God, may this be a good start for all of us. As the name of this square, Pangbagea, suggests. ‘Bagea’ in Sundanese means ‘happy.’ May the people of Cintakarya, in particular, live happily, harmoniously, and prosperously,” said Vice Regent of Pangandaran, H. Ujang Endin Indrawan.
The event was attended by various parties, including representatives from the Cintakarya Village Administration, Citra Fitriyami, SH., a member of the Pangandaran Regional Parliament, and H. Ujang Endin Indrawan, Deputy Regent of Pangandaran.

“We are very pleased that this event has been well received by the community and local stakeholders. This is the first time we have collaborated and organized such a large event in Pangandaran. We hope this will be a positive step toward expanding the benefits of our outreach efforts through religious education and other social initiatives,” said Adriansyah, Head of Dompet Dhuafa West Java.
