Dompet Dhuafa’s Commitment to Improve the Quality of Social Services for the Community

DEPOK, WEST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Service Institute (LPM) held a gathering of Community Service Program Partners in Bojongsari, Depok, on Tuesday (22/10/2024). This event aims to improve the quality of social program services for the community, as well as strengthen collaboration between LPM Dompet Dhuafa and various community groups, organizations, and social foundations.

The event was attended by 20 participants from community groups, organizations, and foundations selected in the first phase of program collaboration, after previously registering through the community proposal partnership program.

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the number of the middle economic class in Indonesia has decreased significantly in the past five years. The decline occurred from 57.33 million people in 2019 to 47.85 million people in 2024. This decline is equivalent to 9.48 million people falling from the middle class to the vulnerable middle class to the vulnerable poor.

This decline was influenced by several factors, including the impact of post-Covid-19 which led to layoffs and decreased economic income. As a social partner of Dompet Dhuafa, LPM Dompet Dhuafa continues to strive to increase the benefits of its programs to help the community.

In his remarks, Kamaludin as Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, Kamaludin said that this activity was the beginning of synergy in helping the community in the service of goodness programs.

“We see people, especially in Jabodetabek, who have difficulty not being able to directly access humanitarian services. Hopefully this collaboration can expand the impact of social services and the community will be more helped by the kindness program,” said Kamaludin.

Arief Rahmadi Haryono as General Manager of Dompet Dhuafa’s Social, Humanitarian and Dakwah Programs when filling in a discussion session related to social program partnerships.

The activity continued with a discussion session related to social program partnerships by Arief Rahmadi Haryono as General Manager of Social, Humanitarian and Dakwah Programs of Dompet Dhuafa. According to him, social program partnerships play a crucial role in efforts to alleviate poverty. Collaboration between the government, non-governmental organizations, companies, and communities allows for strong synergy in designing and implementing community empowerment programs.

Through this cooperation, by combining resources, expertise, and networks from various parties, including community groups, organizations, and foundations, social programs can be more targeted and sustainable, reaching vulnerable groups with various forms of assistance, as a result, the community is economically and socially empowered, increasing their ability to be independent and out of poverty.

Abu Hanifah, one of the participants, was grateful to be able to participate in this event.

Abu Hanifah, the head of the Pondok Pesantren Bina At-Taufiq Atap Yatim as a participant in the workshop, felt grateful to be able to participate in this activity.

“From this event, the various explanations and materials presented opened our insights to improve services for the community. We would like to thank LPM Dompet Dhuafa for presenting activities and opportunities in collaboration,” said Abu.

Representative of Karang Taruna Bogor Regency, M Agit Septian, admitted that his party is ready to support social activities to increase benefits for the community.

In addition, M. Agit Septian, a representative of the Bogor Regency Youth Organization who also participated in this activity, felt more ready to collaborate in activities for the community.

“We as young people must be present in the community in helping orphans, the elderly, and the poor. For this reason, we are ready to become a bridge for social programs in helping the community,” said Agit.

The activity continued with the signing of the Integrity Pact regarding the commitment to synergize goodness through social service programs with LPM Dompet Dhuafa. (Dompet Dhuafa)
