Dompet Dhuafa’s Strategic Plan with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Restoration of Palestine

JAKARTA – On Wednesday (22/01/2025), Dompet Dhuafa attended the Coordination Meeting of the Humanitarian Program for Palestine at the MOFA RI Constitution Building. Previously, as a humanitarian institution that also focuses on the welfare of the people and the independence of Palestine, Dompet Dhuafa received an invitation from the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for the Islamic World, Dr. Muhammad Anis Matta, to discuss strategic plans with the Indonesian government and society for humanitarian programs in Palestine.

The coordination meeting was also attended by the Middle East Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahrul Tsani Faturahman, Director of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs, Indah Nuria Savitri, Director of International Development Cooperation of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives from humanitarian organizations in Indonesia.

On this occasion, Dompet Dhuafa was represented by Dian Mulyadi as Deputy Director Corporate Secretary and Syamsul Ardhiansyah as Strategic Alliance Manager. Dompet Dhuafa expressed great gratitude to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its proactive involvement in bilateral and multilateral discussions, especially in overcoming the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

In addition, Dompet Dhuafa also conveyed how Indonesia’s humanitarian diplomacy plays an important role in handling the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Dompet Dhuafa conveyed ideas related to humanitarian assistance plans during the ceasefire period, as well as discussing opportunities for synergy at the regional level. Dompet Dhuafa also welcomed the initiative of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to build a humanitarian consortium for Palestine (working group for Palestine) which will facilitate coordination in the future.

Dompet Dhuafa’s Action for Palestine (2023-2024)
From October 7, 2023 to the end of December 2024, Dompet Dhuafa has distributed various humanitarian aid for Palestine collected from the Indonesian people. Quoting the Information Data Center of the Disaster Management Center (DMC), Wednesday (08/01/2025), Dompet Dhuafa’s assistance has reached more than 141 thousand people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.

Various efforts have been made by Dompet Dhuafa to ease the burden of the Palestinian people. In 2023, we focused our assistance on fulfilling food needs by distributing 65 thousand food packages. On the other hand, we also provide health services, distribution of feminine hygiene packages, blankets, and winter clothes. Dompet Dhuafa’s kitchen program in North and South Gaza is also fully operational and has produced more than 30 thousand ready-to-eat meals at each distribution location.

Then in 2024, Dompet Dhuafa’s assistance became more diverse with basic needs remaining a priority. Through local partners, Dompet Dhuafa distributed more than 18 thousand food packages and 28 thousand clean water aid packages. Meanwhile, support in the health sector is realized through the distribution of 2,250 packages of medicines and health services that have touched 14,300 people. This assistance is complemented by non-food aid delivery activities, ambulance services, as well as evacuation and medical services. Weather conditions and limited access in Palestine also encouraged Dompet Dhuafa to distribute 800 tents/shelters, 500 winter clothes for children, and 11,077 fuel packages.

Dompet Dhuafa is committed to being consistent in helping the people and freedom of Palestine. Hopefully what has been done by Dompet Dhuafa together with the people of Indonesia can provide tangible benefits, thus easing the burden on the brothers and sisters in Palestine. (Dompet Dhuafa)
