NORTH SUMATRA — From June 17 to 22, 2022, one of Dompet Dhuafa’s finance teams, Apriliza Mandewa, visited North Sumatra to carry out her duties as part of the Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) program.
Yes, Apriliza was enthusiastic about being entrusted with the responsibility of conducting Quality Control (QC) on sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijri. “This task must be carried out to check and ensure that the sacrificial animals to be slaughtered later meet the health and weight requirements of Islamic law.
And there was one day when we conducted QC until nightfall and heavy rain, hopefully it will be a blessing,” said Apriliza.

Upon arriving at Kualanamu Airport, Medan, Apriliza Mandewa continued her journey to the DD Farm livestock center in North Sumatra in the Hamparan Perak area. She crossed vast sugar cane plantations and rocky, rugged roads.
“We also have to venture into remote areas to visit the sheep and goat pens. This is done to uphold the trust of the donors (those who sacrifice animals) to ensure that the sacrificial animals remain valid according to the regulations,” she explained. (Dompet Dhuafa / Apriliza Mandewa / Dhika)
