TÜRKIYE – Dompet Dhuafa, through the Disaster Management Center (DMC) unit, deployed a Health Emergency Response (RDK) health team for Free Health Services (LKC) for medical treatment in Türkiye on Wednesday (08/02/2023). One of the health workers who went there was dr. Zainab Aqila.
With all her heart, dr. Aqila and the entire medical team from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) were armed with the knowledge she had also learned there. The reason is that Türkiye is where he studied medicine. Having lived there for years makes her very understanding of the terrain of the location and the extreme weather during his later actions for humanity.

In addition, she still has a strong emotional affinity towards Türkiye. Many of Aqila’s friends are still at the earthquake site. Of course, this will be a positive point for the smooth running of each action.
“I am still trying to contact my friend who is in the earthquake-affected location,” she explained while preparing for the needs before leaving.
On another occasion, Andi Noor Faradiba Syarifin, commonly called Diba, volunteered to advance Dompet Dhuafa on the assignment of the Türkiye earthquake response of magnitude 7.8, which occurred on Monday (6/2/2023). According to Diba, winter in times of emergency response is a difficult challenge. The reason is that the survivors’ homes damaged by the earthquake resulted in them not having a place to live that could warm themselves and get through the winter.
“The plan is that Dompet Dhuafa will conduct an assessment while preparing logistics. Because in winter, (the need for) blankets and emergency food (is critical),” she said.
“(The evacuation point) was chosen as an area that could accommodate a lot of souls, such as stations and schools. We sent two teams, the initial team for assessment in mapping the flow of departures and points that can be reached,” continued Diba.
