Getting a New Classroom at Dompet Dhuafa’s Emergency School, Rajah is Happy to Continue His Education: He Wants to Become an Islamic Teacher

PIDIE JAYA, ACEH —–— “I am happy to have a new classroom. Now I can continue my education. (By continuing my education) I aspire to become an ustaz,” said Muhammad Rajah, a student at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 4 Pidie Jaya.

That was Rajah’s expression of happiness and hope after receiving a new classroom at his school. The spirit of learning and achieving dreams returned after Dompet Dhuafa added an emergency school building for the students of MIN 4 Pidie Jaya, Dayah Kruet Village, Meurah Dua District, Pidie Jaya Regency on Tuesday (01/20/2026).

For your information, the Emergency School has two classrooms, each measuring 7 x 6 meters. The classrooms will be used for students from grades I to VI. There are 220 students here.

On that occasion, the Principal of MIN 4 Pidie Jaya, Zulkarnaini, expressed his gratitude. According to him, the emergency school assistance is a joint effort to enable children to continue their learning activities.

“Alhamdulillah, we can continue our teaching and learning activities. Thank you, Dompet Dhuafa, for providing assistance to us,” he said.

On the other hand, the Head of Dompet Dhuafa Aceh Branch, Rizki Fauzan, said that this assistance was a mandate from donors who saw that education was important.

“We would like to thank all donors who participated in establishing this Emergency School. Hopefully, this Emergency School will become a safe and comfortable space to support the children’s learning activities,” he said in his speech.

The inauguration of the Emergency School was also witnessed by the Head of the Pidie Jaya Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Mulyadi, and the management of MIN 4 Pidie Jaya. The inauguration took place with a ribbon cutting ceremony and the presentation of souvenirs to the children.

“(After the flood) teaching and learning activities came to a standstill. However, thanks to the help, hard work, and attention given by Dompet Dhuafa (donors), we would like to express our gratitude,” said Mulyadi in his speech.

Azzahra Putri Santi, a social activist, also witnessed the inauguration and echoed the Siap Sekolah (Ready for School) campaign to highlight the need for education for students who survived the flash floods in Aceh and Sumatra.

The children were very enthusiastic about the presence of this Emergency School. Considering that their classrooms are still not fully usable due to mud and water still filling the classrooms.

On the one hand, teaching and learning activities must also take place in order to educate children to become the future leaders of the nation.

In addition to building emergency schools, Dompet Dhuafa donors also provided classroom equipment and reading books to support children’s education.

For your information, all aid from Sahabat Dompet Dhuafa for Aceh and Sumatra continues to be distributed. As of January 19, 2026, the total number of beneficiaries has reached 151,000 people. All of this aid is distributed through various response actions such as the construction of emergency schools, temporary shelters (Rumtara), the fulfillment of basic needs, public kitchen services, Wi-Fi and charger stations, the distribution of clean water, the provision of supplies for mothers, babies, and the elderly, school kits, bore wells, psychological first aid (PFA), and much more.
