SOUTH TANGERANG — Khadijah Learning Center (KLC), one of the productive waqf assets of Dompet Dhuafa, has generated a surplus of Rp 231,261,960. The surplus was symbolically handed over by Asep Hendriana, Chairman of the Umar Usman Education Foundation, which serves as the managing partner, to Dompet Dhuafa as the trustee of KLC’s productive endowment assets, represented by Ahmad Shonhaji, Director of Economic Empowerment at Dompet Dhuafa, at the KLC building in Tangerang Selatan City, Banten.
The event was also attended by Iqbal, General Manager of Endowment Empowerment and Development (PPW), and Lily Zulaeha, Director of the Umar Usman Business Campus.

Asep Hendriana, Chairman of the Umar Usman Education Foundation, said that the Umar Usman Education Foundation is not only a tenant but also a management partner. As a management partner of the KLC building, the surplus generated exceeded the target.
“Alhamdulillah, for the period from September 2021 to September 2022, the surplus achieved reached 102% of the target,” said Asep during the presentation of the endowment surplus on Thursday, September 15, 2022.
Asep also explained that the surplus handed over was derived from the management of the KLC Building, which includes auditorium rentals, office space rentals, and the optimization of parking lot space. “Insha Allah, it will be rented out for the first wedding in October,” he added.

Ustaz Ahmad Shonhaji, Director of Economic Empowerment at Dompet Dhuafa, expressed his gratitude to the Umar Usman Education Foundation for fulfilling its mandate well and managing KLC professionally. “In 2016, I laid the first stone here. Now, it has generated a surplus. I am very happy,” he said gratefully.
Additionally, he noted that achieving such results was no easy feat in the post-pandemic era. However, the Umar Usman Education Foundation managed to optimize the situation. “May it continue to be a productive endowment and spread the benefits of its surplus,” he added.
Currently, the Umar Usman campus is operating regularly. The Director of Economic Empowerment at Dompet Dhuafa also suggested that the KLC program as a center for women’s empowerment be revitalized. “Women’s empowerment is the brand image of KLC. I hope that by 2023, there will be regular programs in line with KLC’s vision,” he concluded. (Dompet Dhuafa / Hafiz)
