Honing Event Marketing Creativity Ahead of Ramadan with IMZ Training

JAKARTA –— Using event marketing as a strategy to promote a product or service is now becoming increasingly popular among many organizations. Event marketing has also proven effective across various business sectors, as well as for boosting brand awareness, fundraising, and fostering customer and donor engagement that continues to grow over time.

In light of this, Inspirasi Melintas Zaman (IMZ) aims to empower the general public—especially young people—to create creative, “trendy,” and high-impact events. Through an online training program titled “How to Create Impactful Events,” 23 participants from various organizations across Indonesia attended the session on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

Twelve participants in a Zoom video conference grid, many raising their hands in greeting or agreement.

This was no joke—during this session, participants received training from Refia Ardhiana, an event creative specialist with 14 years of experience in the worlds of communications, advertising, and, of course, event marketing. Her wealth of experience made the training material even more engaging and comprehensive for the participants.

Refia explained in her presentation that “Event marketing is a marketing strategy carried out by organizing events with the goal of promoting a brand, product, or service. Event marketing is also an effective strategy that can be applied to all businesses and is ideal for increasing brand awareness, fundraising, and fostering customer or donor engagement that continues to grow over time. “Such activities can serve as a means to strengthen an organization’s positioning and provide donors with engaging experiences that reinforce their trust in the organization. This is also known as ‘Brand Activation,’” she explained.

This online training successfully inspired participants to develop their creativity and innovation. Through active learning methods, the facilitators succeeded in fostering a warm and engaging discussion atmosphere during the training.

“The first step in creating an impactful event is the planning process. When planning an event, we must at least determine a creative idea, the type of event to be held, communication strategies, preparation, the event day itself, and the post-event phase—what’s next?” said Refia.
