PALESTINE — Responding to the impact of humanitarian attacks launched by Israel against Palestinians, Dompet Dhuafa deployed ambulance units and medical teams at the scene of the attack. Since Thursday (11/5/2023), Dompet Dhuafa ambulances have been at Al Shifaa Hospital (Rumah Sakit Al Shifaa), Gaza, Palestine, to help the injured and patients who need medical treatment.
In this case, Nura Barzaq from Merciful Hands Charity, a collaboration partner of Dompet Dhuafa in the Gaza Strip, explained Dompet Dhuafa ambulances operate at Al Shifaa Hospital because all ambulances, except Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances, are prohibited from going to dangerous zones that may be targeted. So, he continued, the Dompet Dhuafa ambulance was used to evacuate victims to this hospital.
“Now the ambulance of Dompet Dhuafa is at Al Shifaa Hospital, Gaza to help the wounded and patients there since it is forbidden for any ambulances except the ambulances of the Palestinian Red Crescent to go to the targeted places since it may be targeted as well. So, your (Dompet Dhuafa) ambulance is still at the hospital to provide medical services and for any emergency cases at the hospital,” Nura wrote in her digital message to Dompet Dhuafa on Thursday (11/5/2023).
In detail, Nura explained that the current case is a young girl injured in Gaza. At that time, the situation was so tense, emergency, urgent, and so shocking. Dompet Dhuafa ambulance also helped evacuate the child to Al Shifaa Hospital. By the grace of Allah, the young girl has now returned to her home.
“The situation was very emergency, urgent and surprising,” Nura said, as quoted from her message.
