Dompet Dhuafa Aceh distributed a donation of 1 ton of rice from PT. Citra Bintang Familindo, to residents affected by the North Aceh Flood, on Sunday (9/10/2022). The distribution was carried out at eight evacuation points for residents affected by the flood disaster. The first day of distribution was at the Meunasah Manyang evacuation post, Abeuk Leupen refugee post, Leubok refugee post, and Meunasah Cibrek evacuation post, Lhoksukon District – North Aceh Regency.
On the day of his blessing, the distribution continued to the Meunasah Blang refugee post, Meunasah Jok evacuation post, Gampong Nga refugee post, as well as to Dayah in Bate Sikureng – North Aceh, on Monday (10/10/2022). The distribution is carried out proportionally based on the number of beneficiaries at their respective posts.
Dompet Dhuafa Aceh Branch Leader, Rizki Fauzan stated, the distribution of logistics materials in the form of 1 ton of rice is a series of follow-up actions. Previously, the Health Emergency Response (RDK) team of Dompet Dhuafa Aceh Free Health Service (LKC) had carried out Healthy Service Actions, as well as logistical assistance for soup kitchens provided by residents in Abeuk Leupen village, Lhoksukon District – North Aceh Regency. One location was affected by the flood disaster.
“Alhamdulillah, we have distributed the mandate from donors to the fullest. May this be a blessing for the flood control. Thank you also to Mr. H. Arbie Abdul Gani, director of PT Citra Bintang Familindo, for trust in Dompet Dhuafa Aceh, as a partner of this kindness,” said Fauzan.
Mulya, LKC Aceh staff as field coordinator, stated that logistics and health needs have been handled. The most urgent needs today are clean water and drinking water, because 80% of residential areas are still flooded. The team had to break through the flood to bring mineral water to the evacuation post.
“The RDK LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh team continues to strive to maximize the handling of residents affected by floods in North Aceh. In fact, the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) team was also involved in the emergency response to the North Aceh flood,” said Mulya.
Based on official information from BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) the North Aceh flood has been designated as a Flood Emergency since October 5, 2022. Until now, it is estimated that flood victims have reached 52,449 people with a total of 39,957 refugees with 80 evacuation points in five districts, namely Pirak Timu District, Matangkuli District, Lhoksukon District, Tanah Luas District, and Baktiya District – North Aceh Regency.
