JENEPONTO, SOUTH SULAWESI — Jeneponto Regency is the region with the second most santri for the Dompet Dhuafa Forum Halaqah Quran (FHQ) program. More than 1000 santri are recorded as joining FHQ, ranging from government officials to civil society.
The interest and enthusiasm of the Jeneponto community to improve their reading and memorization of the Koran is fully supported by the government by providing Koran study rooms. One of them is by supporting the presence of the Dompet Dhuafa da’wah program, especially FHQ in Jeneponto Regency. Around 79 FHQ groups are present in Jeneponto with various learning classes.
The Regent of Jeneponto, Drs. H. Iksan Iskandar, M.Si, expressed his appreciation to Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi (DD South Sulawesi) for holding the FHQ in Jeneponto Regency. FHQ is also a form of synergy and collaboration of da’wah programs in accordance with the vision and mission of the regent and deputy regent of Jeneponto, one of which is to create 1000 Quran reciters in Jeneponto.

During the Jeneponto award night which was held on Wednesday (17/08/2022) in the hall of the Jeneponto Regent’s Office, an award certificate was given as a form of appreciation from the Jeneponto Regency government for the support and cooperation in realizing the development and achievement of the vision and mission of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Jeneponto in 3 years of leadership.
“Thank you for the help of Dompet Dhuafa,” said Iksan Iskandar in the award presentation. Likewise, Dompet Dhuafa South Sulawesi also strives to provide maximum support to the Jeneponto government in realizing Jeneponto as a religious tourism destination by not only being present in the Halaqah Quran Forum program but also contributing to other da’wah programs.
One of the places that is currently being collaborated with the regent of Jeneponto is AlIhsan Quran Village, located in Tetebatu Village, Sidenre Urban Village, Binamu District, Jeneponto City, which was inaugurated on National Santri Day on October 22, 2021.
In this Quran Al-Ihsan Village, there are a number of da’wah services including adult and children’s Quran halaqah forums, tilawah, calligraphy, dauroh muwajjih and quran tours.
