KENDARI, SULAWESI TENGGARA — Through the Disaster Management Center (DMC), Dompet Dhuafa Southeast Sulawesi (Southeast Sulawesi) Branch and Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer (DDV) Southeast Sulawesi rolled out assistance to residents affected by flooding in Salo Village, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi on Tuesday (12/3/2024). This assistance includes Ramadan Gifts for flood survivors.

Along with the first day of Ramadan 1445 H, the Dompet Dhuafa DMC Team and DDV Southeast Sulawesi provided Ramadan Gifts in the form of Eco Green Takjil and basic food packages. Not to forget, fast food at iftar and suhoor time was also distributed to residents.

The aid distribution was carried out from Friday (8/3/2024) to Wednesday (13/3/2024), with a total of 1,150 beneficiaries.

Field Coordinator of the Kendari DMC Dompet Dhuafa Flood Response Team, Hasfil explained that the Dompet Dhuafa DMC Team also rolled out Borong Dagangan Nusantara assistance. This aims to restore micro-economic conditions at affected points in Salo Village, Kendari.

“The purpose of the Borong Dagangan Nusantara program is to sell the merchandise of the flood survivors. Alhamdulillah, the locals are very enthusiastic. We have also distributed food aid in the form of Eco Green Takjil for iftar. Hopefully, it can help alleviate the condition of the survivors,” said Hasfil.

The current situation of Salo Village, cleaning is carried out by the DMC Team and other volunteers. Although rain often falls in the afternoon, the floods have begun to recede and there are no puddles. Ease of road access is also open for aid distribution.
