BOGOR, WEST JAVA — The excitement of the largest international automotive exhibition held at the Indonesia Convention Center (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, Banten, continues. The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) as the organizer of the exhibition, named the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) this year, has once again partnered with Dompet Dhuafa as a collaborative partner in one of its programs, GIIAS Educare.

The event began with the renovation of MI Nurul Falah School in Kampung Gaok, Pangadegan Village, Pasar Kemis Sub-district, Tangerang Regency, followed by an Education Day where 200 students from three schools visited the GIIAS 2022 automotive exhibition. The initiative didn’t stop there. At the conclusion of the GIIAS Educare event, #JadiManfaat continued its impact by donating 167 school kits to students at SMART Ekselensia Indonesia, located in Jampang Village, Kemang District, Bogor Regency, West Java.

SMART Ekselensia Indonesia is an accelerated, boarding, and tuition-free secondary school for marginalized children who do not have the opportunity to obtain quality education due to economic factors. SMART Ekselensia Indonesia offers junior high school and high school programs that are completed in five years. Three years for junior high school and two years for high school.
The students were seen to be very enthusiastic when the Dompet Dhuafa team arrived with hundreds of school kits on Friday (August 19, 2022). The students from the junior high school level were already preparing to welcome the team while reading books in the library. The small smiles on the students’ faces could not be hidden as each of them received their school kits from GIIAS Educare.

Sobirin, a third-grade student from Riau, expressed his excitement about receiving a school kit donation from GIIAS Educare. After receiving the school kit, he feels more motivated to pursue his education at SMART Ekselensia Indonesia.
“I’m so happy to receive the bag and books from GIIAS Educare. The design is also nice, and I like it. After this, I’m even more motivated to go to school and study every day,” Sobirin said after receiving the school kit.

Dompet Dhuafa and Gaikindo are committed to continuing to expand the benefits of their collaboration at GIIAS every year, one of which is through GIIAS Educare. Hopefully, this is a concrete step towards greater collaboration in the future.

“Of course, we at Dompet Dhuafa would like to express our deepest gratitude to Gaikindo for entrusting us to be a partner in the GIIAS Educare program for the umpteenth time. We hope this collaboration will continue to expand so that it can bring benefits to the Indonesian people, especially in the field of education,” said Vini Hidayani, Partnership Resource Mobilization Officer (REMO) at Dompet Dhuafa.
