Knocking on Mustahiq’s Door, DD Waspada Supply One Month of Food Needs

DELI SERDANG, NORTH SUMATERA — Dompet Dhuafa Waspada returns to run a basic food-sharing program for mustahiq through the Knock on mustahiq’s Doors program, on Tuesday (18/10/2022) in Percut Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. This program is carried out by meeting the needs of the mustahiq family within a period of one month.

Delivered directly to the house, the first aid was given to Ilhamudin, a street martabak seller. From Ilhamudin’s confession, he sells from noon to midnight with uncertain income.

“If there are more buyers, one day can get one hundred thousand more. However, sales cannot necessarily always sell well,” said Ilhamudin.

More than twenty years of selling martabak around made Ilhamudin never give up hope. With all his might he fought to send his five children to school. “The important thing is that the family can still eat, the children can still go to school, and whatever I do. Yes, selling martabak around this is tiring but just enjoyed,” he continued.

Mr. Ilhamudin also admitted that he had long adapted the heat and rain. “If it’s hot to rest for a while if it rains, you just have to wear a raincoat and continue to push the cart again,” said Ilhamudin recounting when he was selling.

The arrival of the Dompet Dhuafa Waspada team when providing Aid to Mr. Ilhamudin also touched him. “I’m so grateful, this kind of help can be for our meal. The money earned by the sales can be allocated for the children’s school needs,” he said.
