JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa officially launched its 1447 H Eid al-Adha sacrifice program series through the Kurbanaval: The Kurban Series event held at Cibis Park, South Jakarta, on Saturday (May 2, 2026). The event carried the overarching theme “Prepare Your Best Offering” as a call to the public to donate the highest-quality sacrificial animals.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation (YDDR), Ahmad Juwaini, emphasized that managing qurbani on a large scale requires collective synergy from various parties.

“We invite collaboration from all parties, ranging from donors, companies, financial institutions, livestock farmers, to courier services and e-commerce platforms. Let’s make this year’s Kurban event a success with sincerity and the best possible deeds by preparing your best vehicle,” said Ahmad Juwaini in his opening remarks.

The festivities of Kurbanaval began with a procession of vehicles as a symbol of the start of this year’s qurbani season. The parade was also attended by comedian Indro Warkop, motovlogger Elang MV, and the Onthel Setu Babakan (Oseba) bicycle community.

The event then continued with a panel discussion featuring Ali Bastoni, Chair of the 1447 H. Qurbani Committee. During the session, he explained that there are two main aspects to the Qurbani Animal Distribution (THK) program.

“This year’s Kurban has two main objectives. First, THK is intended to reach even the most remote corners of the country, including areas lacking meat. Second, we aim to provide added value for local farmers. Currently, we are partnering with 49 farmer groups to distribute Kurban to 788 villages across 21 provinces,” explained Ali.

Ali added that this year’s target is to reach two million beneficiaries. The distribution scope has also expanded to include international regions.

“This distribution covers areas from the tip of Aceh to Papua, as well as overseas locations such as Somalia, Sudan, Palestine, and Myanmar,” he added.

Indro Warkop, who has also been a Dompet Dhuafa qurbani donor since 2015, was present at the location and shared his story. He admitted that he was initially skeptical about qurbani distribution in urban areas, but the survey (assessment) system conducted by Dompet Dhuafa convinced him to make a qurbani donation. He even made a qurbani donation as far as Myanmar.

“Sometimes there’s a concern: is this qurbani really reaching the underprivileged? Well, the advantage with Dompet Dhuafa is that they’ve already conducted surveys to identify the most appropriate locations. For instance, I once made a qurbani offering in Myanmar through Dompet Dhuafa,” explained Om Indro, outlining his reason for entrusting his qurbani to Dompet Dhuafa.

The atmosphere at Cibis Park grew even more lively with an entertainment performance by Damara De. As the highlight of the event, the organizers distributed various attractive door prizes, including a grand prize of a free qurbani for lucky visitors—a symbol of appreciation and an incentive to perform qurbani in 2026.

Let’s prepare your “best vehicle” for the afterlife and worldly benefits. Channel your best qurbani through Dompet Dhuafa and help bring happiness to the far corners of the country. (Dompet Dhuafa)
