BANDA ACEH — Welcoming World Breastfeeding Week 2022, the Aceh Dompet Dhuaf Free Health Service (LKC) is holding a series of activities from August 4 to 7, 2022. The program of events started with a smart cadre competition which was participated in by 12 LKCs throughout Indonesia, starting on Thursday (4/8/2022). The LKC Aceh cadre won 5th place in the individual smart cadre competition which was participated in by 12 LKCs throughout Indonesia.
To enliven World Breastfeeding Week, LKC Aceh on Friday (5/08/2022), conducted educational counseling on Exclusive Breastfeeding and Home Complementary Feeding delivered by the counselor of the Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers Association (AIMI) Aceh, Rosi Novita, SP, M. Kes. After that, they continued by filling out the counseling form for breastfeeding mothers and handing out certificates of appreciation for mothers and children with exclusive breastfeeding.
This series of events is important to be carried out and should be supported by all elements of society. The information provided is very easy for the community to understand. The counseling provided is closely related to the experiences of breastfeeding mothers. In the data collection activities, the community counseling was also quite enthusiastic.
There were 15 participants in the education counseling on exclusive breastfeeding and home complementary feeding and data collection on counseling. The appreciation ceremony for mothers and children of exclusive breastfeeding was also held on the same day with 30 participants.
Rizki Fauzan as the Regional Head of LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh hopes to be able to hold similar events in the future, even if possible with even more diverse variations of activities. Considering the very large positive impact on the community. With this agenda, hopefully the community will understand and care more about the importance of breast milk, especially for breastfeeding mothers.
After that, on Saturday (6/8/2022), LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh held another cooking demonstration in the village of Miruek Lamreudeup. This activity was participated by 3 villages: Miruek Lamreudeup, Data Makmur and Lamseupeung.
“Meanwhile, special examinations for nursing mothers are free, but limited to only 10 cholesterol sticks, 25 blood sugar sticks and 25 uric acid sticks,” added Nufus. This activity is in collaboration with AIMI ACEH and other communities. This action is to support World Breast Milk Week 2022. “Alhamdulillah, the LKC Dompet Dhuafa Aceh activity went smoothly. The participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity agenda. Hopefully, this activity can increase public awareness of the importance of breast milk and boost the morale of breastfeeding mothers,” said Fauzan.
Closing the series on Sunday (8/7/2022), in Blang Padang, downtown Banda Aceh, with health checks such as weighing, checking blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol with 59 beneficiaries. (Dompet Dhuafa / LKC / Aceh / Fatzy)
