Logistical Aid for Residents Affected by the Meteseh Semarang Flood

CENTRAL JAVA — Respond to the flash flood that submerged the Dinar Indah Meteseh housing complex, Tembalang, Semarang City which occurred on Friday (6/12/2022), Dompet Dhuafa Jawa Tengah rushed to distribute logistics in the form of ready-to-eat food, medicines and drinking water.

The logistics distribution team worked hand in hand to distribute logistics to two evacuation points with a combination of volunteers from various elements. The Dinar Indah Housing Mosque allocated the first point of logistical aid and the second point of logistical aid at the FKPP Fatmawati Training Center.

Yandi Pratama, a Dompet Dhuafa Jawa Tengah volunteer, said a broken embankment around the Bamboo River collector caused the flash flood.

“Alhamdulillah, when the Dompet Dhuafa Central Java team came to distribute logistics. All residents have been properly evacuated by volunteers and related experts from the government to two points at the Dinar Indah Housing Mosque and the Training Hall,” he explained.

The flash flood this time, although it occurred in the afternoon, receded quickly at 21.00 WIB. A total of 36 families and 44 houses were affected by this flood disaster. This incident has also claimed 1 death and 1 other person is still in shock. The victims were then evacuated to KRMT Hospital. Wongso Negoro.

In addition to Tembalang District, according to BPBD Kota Semarang record, floods also occurred in Sendang Guwo Village and Rowosari Village.
