NORTH SUMATRA — For the past four months, the skies over Gaza have been filled with horror. The Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories intensifies each day, with Rafah now also under siege. Consequently, the Gaza Strip has faced relentless Israeli airstrikes, resulting in tens of thousands of casualties, predominantly children and women.
The human toll and infrastructure damage continue to mount, plunging the people of Gaza into a state of perpetual uncertainty and fear. Ongoing military offensives by Israeli forces have severely impeded aid delivery to the Gaza Strip. Trapped Palestinians have been forced to consume wild grass and livestock feed for survival, as reported by the humanitarian organization ActionAid on Saturday (February 10, 2024), indicating their dire measures to stave off starvation.
Dompet Dhuafa, as a humanitarian agency, steadfastly supports Palestine’s independence, in line with the constitutional belief that all forms of colonization must be eradicated. Active in this humanitarian conflict since 2008, Dompet Dhuafa has never faltered.

The drive for good deeds persists, notably through the collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, Namira Islamic School Medan, and the Humairah Namira Study Group. They organized the Tabligh Akbar Volume II as an Action for Defending Palestine, on Saturday (February 3, 2024). This event successfully raised IDR 86,743,441 in donations, funneled through Dompet Dhuafa Waspada to support the Palestinian populace.
Prahesti, the committee chair and General Chair of the Humairah Namira Study Group, stated that the Tabligh Akbar Volume II aimed to rekindle the spirit of defending Palestine and to unify support for the rights and welfare of the Palestinian people.
“We’ve observed the dwindling news coverage of our brothers and sisters in Palestine, despite their ongoing oppression by Israel. It’s crucial we reignite our collective will to defend Palestine, educate on boycotting Israel-supported products, and unite in prayer for our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” she remarked.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to our Palestinian brothers and sisters. This outcome, beyond our expectations, truly came from Allah,” she expressed.
Moreover, Rahmat Saleh, Chair of the Fajar Diinul Islam Foundation at Namira Islamic School Medan, reinvigorated the students’ resolve to defend Palestine, thanking the committee and Dompet Dhuafa Waspada for the successful event.
“We gather here in solidarity with our Palestinian siblings. There are myriad reasons to defend them, not least of which is their current plight under occupation. They are our kin in need of our support,” he articulated.
“Thankfully, the event proceeded smoothly, owing to the dedicated efforts of the entire committee. Our gratitude also extends to Dompet Dhuafa Waspada for their partnership in delivering gifts as an embodiment of love, messages, and hope to the Palestinian people. We hope our actions inspire other institutions to remember and support Palestine,” he added.

Sulaiman, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, acknowledged the generosity of Namira Islamic School Medan and the Humairah Namira Study Group, looking forward to further collaborations that could amplify their impact.
“We are grateful for this synergy of kindness. Our Palestinian brothers and sisters, still facing aggression from Israel, remain our collective responsibility. We are eager to continue our partnership in future humanitarian efforts or other programs,” he anticipated.
