JAKARTA —-— Amid the hustle and bustle of West Jakarta, specifically in Angke Village, Tambora Subdistrict, lies a densely populated area sandwiched between two major rivers: the Ciliwung and the Krendang. It is there, amidst the cramped settlements, that Dompet Dhuafa brought a ray of Ramadan blessings through the Grebek Kampung Program with various service initiatives on Thursday (March 12, 2026).
Centered at the Jami Al-Mubarokah Mosque, a warm atmosphere was immediately felt as soon as the services opened. Residents flocked to the various charity booths. Some queued for free medical checkups from the Free Health Service (LKC), men sought free haircuts to look neat from the Independence Institute (IK), and cheerful children participated in the Flash Islamic Boarding School program led by the Dompet Dhuafa Da’wah Corps (Cordofa).

This Ramadan feels even more special with the presence of familiar faces on TV. Food vlogger Benu Buloe and Chef Ocit (MasterChef Indonesia) got right in the thick of things, distributing 350 sacks of Zakat al-Fitr rice and cooking delicious meals on-site. The underprivileged recipients of this aid were visibly moved, especially when they received 300 portions of nutritious meals prepared specifically for them.
“I’m so happy; alhamdulillah, there are people who care and help us here,” said one of the mothers, a beneficiary.

In addition to food aid, compassion was also demonstrated through financial assistance for 35 elderly individuals as well as the distribution of 110 school kits and Muslim kits for schoolchildren.

Grebek Kampung isn’t just about giving; it’s about being present and experiencing firsthand the pulse of communities in areas that are often overlooked or affected by disasters.
“Ramadan is the perfect time to heighten social awareness. We want to revive the spirit of mutual aid and togetherness within the community,” said Sabiq Al-Qital, Grebek Kampung Project Lead at Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Service Agency (LPM).

Appreciation also came from local government officials.
“On behalf of Tambora Subdistrict, we extend our deepest gratitude to Dompet Dhuafa for their extraordinary care,” said Faruk Ansori, a staff member of Tambora Subdistrict.
May this small step in a corner of Tambora become a flame of enthusiasm that continues to burn, encouraging us all to strengthen one another during this Ramadan 1447 H. Because for them, our attention is a tangible hope. (Dompet Dhuafa)
