DENPASAR, BALI – An unpleasant sight was seen in the Kuta Beach Tourism Area, Badung, Bali, after the celebration of New Year’s Eve 2025. Garbage was piled up and scattered as a result of irresponsible people who disposed of it carelessly. This has also become a challenge for the surrounding community as well as the manager of the tourist area at Kuta Beach.
After learning about this problem, Dompet Dhuafa Bali together with Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer held a garbage cleanup action on Wednesday (1/1/2025) as an effort to maintain environmental cleanliness and comfort. They also invited the surrounding community and tourists to participate in cleaning up the garbage left over from the New Year’s Eve celebration.
After the New Year 2025 celebration at Kuta Beach, plastic waste from food and fireworks were scattered on the shoreline. The cleanup began at 06.00-09.00 WITA. Kuta Beach is famous for its natural beauty, but it is often polluted after big celebrations. In addition to cleaning the beach, the cleanup also aimed to raise public awareness of the importance of keeping the environment clean.
“We believe that keeping the environment clean is a shared responsibility. The new year is the perfect moment to start a new resolution, and we want to invite everyone to commit to keeping our nature clean. This activity is not just a cleaning action, but also a reminder that a clean environment is the key to the health and well-being of all of us,” said Fadly Hassan, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Bali.
By 2025, Dompet Dhuafa Bali is committed to organizing more campaigns and activities that educate the public about the importance of keeping the environment clean. Collaborate with various parties, including the government and other organizations, to create sustainable programs. Continuing regular clean-up activities in various locations in Bali to maintain the beauty of nature.
“Yes, we from Dompet Dhuafa Bali in 2025 continue to be committed to providing the best good programs to the people of Bali, serving people who are unable, continuing to strive to protect Bali’s nature with agendas like this. And we invite all levels of society to collaborate to create a better Bali, realizing the Tri Hita Karana philosophy of maintaining a harmonious relationship with God, maintaining a harmonious relationship with humans, and maintaining a harmonious relationship with nature, “concluded Fadli.
With a new spirit in 2025, Dompet Dhuafa Bali hopes to inspire more people to care about the environment and contribute to keeping beaches and nature clean. The problem of plastic waste in Indonesia that ends up on the beach or sea can no longer be taken lightly. The emergence of plastic waste in Indonesia’s oceans originated from unmanaged plastic waste on land. The percentage is no joke. As much as 80 percent of marine debris comes from human activities on land. (Dompet Dhuafa)
