BOGOR – The Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya) program, which was developed in collaboration with Lembaga Pendidikan Insani (LPI) Dompet Dhuafa and PT Asuransi Multhi Artha Guna Tbk (AMAG), was officially ended on Tuesday (31/1/2023) at SMK Bogor Muhidin School (BMS). After three months of mentoring, the Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya) program has arrived at the end of the series, ready to develop students that are creative, competitive, and innovative.
Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya) Program is a mentoring program for the development of comparative excellence in schools to realize graduates who are empowered, capable of competing in the digital era, and taking advantage of business opportunities to achieve financial independence.
More than 700 students benefit from the Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya) program, with 5 companions in 5 regions. Bogor Regency, Sukabumi Regency, Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and Cianjur Regency are all covered by the Empowered Vocational School program. There are two schools in the Bogor Regency area: SMK Harapan Kita and SMK Bogor Muhidin School.
The closing ceremony was attended by Pankaj Oberoi, President Director of MAG Insurance; Peggy Wystan, MAG Insurance Director, Purwo Udiutomo, Dompet Dhuafa Senior Education Officer; H. Samsuri, Chairman of Al Muhiddin Bogor Foundation; Mahmud Alawi, Head of SMK Bogor Muhidin School; and Muhiddin, Head of SMK Harapan Kita, Teachers and Students.
PT AMAG firmly supports Empowered Vocational School to educate the nation’s life and increase the quality of human resources. The students of the Empowered Vocational School program have studied digital marketing, graphic design, leadership, career planning, life planning and others.
“We hope that this program can build a young generation who compete in the digital transformation era and can innovate and be creative to answer opportunities and challenges in the future,” said Pankaj Oberoi in his speech on Tuesday (31/1/2023).
The program’s beneficiaries receive coaching for three months to develop a positive character. They also receive coaching to help them enhance their leadership and creative talents.
“After all, we recognize that competence is crucial, and competence is tied to knowledge, abilities, and attitudes. And it is what we are attempting to hone with this Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya) program. So, ideally, the program intervention on digital marketing, graphic design, entrepreneurship, life planning, and career planning will be effective not only in this training room but also in the days passed by the students,” Purwo Udiutomo, Senior Officer of Education Dompet Dhuafa, explained.

Arief Azis Abdurrahman, Project Officer of Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya), stated that one type of program activation is the Leadpreneurship Festival, a business idea festival for all Empowered Vocational Schools in Indonesia.
“We provide implementation after closing, in the form of funds to be used as capital for mentoring groups, do the mentoring groups that have presented projects, in the form of new business proposals, funds are given to implement the project,” Arief told Dompet Dhuafa.
At the closing of the Empowered Vocational School (SMK Berdaya) program, the beneficiaries displayed the results or goods they created. The group representatives demonstrated their skills and those of the other groups. Some offer photography services, knitting bags, bespoke t-shirts, and other items.
“Happy, continue to be grateful because it is useful for us in the future, especially nowadays it is virtually impossible to work so we may establish our own business but be supervised by mentors,” remarked Ismiatul Naila, an SMK Bogor Muhidin School beneficiary.
The activity was completed with a ceremonial handover of help from PT AMAG to Dompet Dhuafa. It is envisaged that this program will boost Indonesian education.
