JAKARTA -– On July 2, 2025, Dompet Dhuafa will celebrate its 32nd anniversary. This milestone marks the maturity and consistency of an Islamic philanthropic organization in its journey toward empowerment and humanitarianism. Last year, at its 31st anniversary, Dompet Dhuafa adopted the theme “A Smiling Foundation” and focused on nurturing the spirit of philanthropreneurship in every individual. This 32nd anniversary seems to be a continuation of that spirit: sowing hope for the less fortunate in various forms, particularly through the concept of communal industry.
Over three decades of operation, Dompet Dhuafa has consistently demonstrated positive momentum. This is reflected in the growing data on fund collection. During this year’s Ramadan, Dompet Dhuafa’s fund collection recorded a 14.8% increase compared to the previous year. Not only that, the National Eid al-Adha sacrifice collection by Dompet Dhuafa in 2025 also achieved an impressive figure of 36,709 sheep/goats, representing a growth of 33.70%. These numbers are not merely statistics but a reflection of the growing trust of the community and the effectiveness of Dompet Dhuafa’s programs in distributing the trust entrusted to them.
The journey of Dompet Dhuafa began humbly as a column in the Republika daily newspaper in 1993. However, the spirit of compassion it championed grew into a foundation in 1994 and is now one of the leading national zakat management institutions (LAZ). Dompet Dhuafa’s maturity at 32 years old is not only measured by the amount of funds collected but also by the innovation of its programs and the expanding reach of its social impact. The concept of communal industry, which is the focus of this anniversary, is a clear demonstration of Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment to empowering beneficiaries sustainably—not just providing temporary aid but creating economic independence for communities.
To celebrate this long journey, Dompet Dhuafa has prepared a series of festive and meaningful 32nd anniversary events. The celebrations kick off with a cardio dance event at Gelora Bung Karno on June 28, 2025. Simultaneous activities across various locations in Indonesia will take place during Car Free Day on June 29, 2025, involving all Dompet Dhuafa branches, bringing the festivities directly to the community. On June 30, 2025, a blood donation drive will be held simultaneously at Dompet Dhuafa’s headquarters and all branches of the Free Health Services (LKC) network across Indonesia, demonstrating Dompet Dhuafa’s commitment to public health.

A series of events titled “Goes to Milad ke-32 Tahun” is gaining momentum. The highlight of this reflective event will take place on July 1, 2025, with a public discussion at the Philanthropy Building Cultural Center, a forum to review the journey and future of philanthropy. On the historic date of July 2, 2025, the anniversary celebration will be held, marking an important moment to celebrate achievements and renew commitments. The series of events will conclude with a book launch by Andi Makmur Makka on July 4, 2025, which may delve deeper into the narrative of philanthropy and humanity.
As stated by Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Board of Directors, this anniversary is a call to the broader community to get involved in empowering others. “We urge everyone to care about the community, help the community, and develop communal industries to support community well-being,” he said. This message reinforces that the spirit of philanthropy is a collective movement, and Dompet Dhuafa serves as a facilitator for anyone who wishes to share hope and kindness.
