Pre-Eid Gifts: 30 Children at the An-Nuriyyah Qur’an Memorization Orphanage Receive Gifts for Orphans from Tokopedia

BEKASI —-— The blessings of the month of Ramadan 1447 H are increasingly being felt by the children at the An-Nuriyyah Quran Memorization Orphanage in South Tambun, Bekasi. Around noon on Wednesday (March 11, 2026), the children were gathered in the courtyard of a mosque, next to which were lined up dozens of “Orphan Gifts” to be distributed to them.

The children welcomed the Dompet Dhuafa team with great enthusiasm; their laughter and excited shouts could be heard from time to time. Dompet Dhuafa distributed 30 Orphan Gift packages, supported by Tokopedia users who had donated through the app.

At the An-Nuriyyah Orphanage itself, there are dozens of children, some of whom attend school from kindergarten through elementary, junior high, and high school. Kado Yatim is one of the programs in Tokopedia’s 1447 H Ramadan Program series, in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa.

One of those who has felt the kindness this holy month is Khadijah Nur Sakinah (13). Khadijah is one of the children living in the dormitory at the An-Nuriyyah Quran Memorization Orphanage. She joined the orphanage two years ago.

Khadijah lives with her father and older brother, but her strong desire to study the Quran led her to want to stay at the An-Nuriyyah Foundation.

“I’ve been here for two years now. Alhamdulillah, I feel at home because I have so many friends. I also want to study the Quran here so I can deepen my religious knowledge and read the Quran fluently. This is truly my choice to be here at the boarding school,” Khadijah shared.

In her daily life, Khadijah shared that her father works as a street vendor. She admitted that she occasionally asks her father for pocket money, and he gives it to her if he can afford it. However, when things are tight, she understands and doesn’t make a fuss about it.

Alhamdulillah, Khadijah is one of the beneficiaries of Tokopedia’s Kado Yatim program. She explained that she needs school supplies and hopes there will be a backpack included.

“Wow, there’s a backpack, a water bottle, and a pencil case—exactly what I wanted. Alhamdulillah, I got a backpack, and Alhamdulillah, I also got a Muslim outfit,” said Khadijah.

Khadijah admitted she was very happy to receive the gift because it contained school supplies she currently needed, considering that some of her own had been lost.

“I’m happy to get the gift because it has school supplies, since some of my school supplies are missing. I’m going to use the bag right away for school. Thank you, Tokopedia, for sharing this gift. May you always be healthy and blessed with abundance, Aamiin,” she concluded.

This simple joy serves as a reminder that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
