AMBON, MALUKU — Dompet Dhuafa is not only focused on poverty alleviation through community empowerment programs. Environmental sustainability is also one of Dompet Dhuafa’s main concerns in order to maintain balance between human life and nature.
A disrupted balance can certainly lead to potential disasters in urban areas and other communities. Dompet Dhuafa continues to promote environmental conservation among the community, even from an early age. One of the implementations of this vision is by distributing plant seedlings to students in schools.

As was done by Dompet Dhuafa Maluku on Saturday (24/09/2022) in Taeno Hamlet, Rumahtiga Village, Teluk Ambon Subdistrict, Maluku. One of the schools that received plant seedlings was SD Inpres 60 Taeno. The school welcomed this activity and hoped that the seedlings would bring comfort with the greenery of the environment.
Dompet Dhuafa does not want to act alone in spreading the benefits of this initiative. The Maluku Provincial Agriculture Department and stakeholders from each village were involved to ensure the benefits of this activity reach a wider audience and benefit more recipients.

This is one of the ways Dompet Dhuafa is committed to continuing to engage people from all walks of life in its charitable programs. La Januri, Head of Dompet Dhuafa Maluku, also expressed his gratitude to all those involved in the distribution of the seedlings.
“On behalf of the entire team, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks, especially to the Maluku Provincial Agriculture Department, the Principal of SD Inpres 60 Taeno, the Village Head of Taeno, the Village Head of Bandarai, and all parties who have contributed and assisted in making this activity a reality,” said La Januri.
In fact, this seedling distribution program has been in the works for a long time by Dompet Dhuafa Maluku. On this occasion, Dompet Dhuafa Maluku collaborated with the Maluku Provincial Agriculture Department and was finally able to implement this program.

“This seedling distribution program has actually been initiated by Dompet Dhuafa Maluku for quite some time, but it has only been realized today. This is a result of the hard work and collaboration between the Dompet Dhuafa Maluku team and the Maluku Provincial Agriculture Department,” he concluded.
A total of 300 plant seedlings were distributed during this activity. It is hoped that this initiative will help green the school environment, making it more comfortable for children to learn daily. Additionally, the activity carries an educational message for students, particularly at SD Inpres 60 Taeon, to preserve the environment and reduce pollution levels, especially in Ambon City.
