TASIKMALAYA, WEST JAVA — PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) Paiton Generation Unit collaborated with the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa in organizing a Free Health Service Post for 100 people affected by floods and landslides in Tawangsari Village, Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City, Thursday (09/22/2022).
Based on the findings, some residents exhibited symptoms of illnesses such as itching, diarrhea, influenza, dizziness, and dengue fever. The health services provided included blood pressure checks, oxygen saturation tests, doctor consultations, and medication distribution.

Previously, floods hit several areas in Tasikmalaya City on Sunday (September 11, 2022). Hundreds of people were affected, and dozens of houses were submerged and swept away by the floods.
“We would like to thank PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) Paiton Generation Unit for its assistance and collaboration, which has enabled us to help the communities affected by the floods in Tasikmalaya,” explained Haryo Mojopahit, Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa.

From children to adults and the elderly, everyone enthusiastically received the health services provided. This Health Service Action (HSA) has been very helpful in meeting their health care needs.
“Thank you for the free health clinic. The residents here really need this because many people have fallen ill after the flood,” explained Mr. Eno, a flood-affected resident.
The reason is that this health service initiative has made it easier for them to access healthcare. All they need to do is come and consult with the healthcare workers available.

“Thank you to Dompet Dhuafa and PT. PJB for their tremendous assistance in providing free medical treatment to residents of RW 01 and RW 02, especially those affected by the flood. Thank you,” said Siti Wardah, one of the beneficiaries who is also the head of the local integrated health service post.
In addition to Tasikmalaya, PT. PJB Paiton Power Plant Unit and DMC Dompet Dhuafa will also provide similar services at the evacuation center for victims of the Semeru volcanic ash cloud (APG) disaster.

“The cooperation and collaboration established through the Free Health Service Post initiative between PT. PJB Paiton Power Plant Unit and DMC Dompet Dhuafa have contributed to accelerating the recovery process for disaster-affected communities in Tawangsari Village, Tasikmalaya City,” explained Agus Prastyo Utomo, General Manager of PT. PJB Paiton Power Plant Unit, in a brief message.
As of now, DMC Dompet Dhuafa continues to provide services aimed at improving the well-being and health of survivors of the Semeru volcanic eruption.
“We will also launch similar services in Lumajang, East Java,” concluded Haryo. (Dompet Dhuafa / DMC)
