BOGOR —-— Qatar Charity Foundation, a non-governmental charity organization in Qatar, has collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa in a philanthropic synergy. In Bogor Regency, specifically in Kampung Jampang, Kemang District, integrated with the Dompet Dhuafa Integrated Health Center, Qatar Charity and Dompet Dhuafa have a productive waqf hospital that has been operating since 2020. On Sunday (May 15, 2022), Qatar Charity and donors visited the Qatar Charity Hospital and greeted the beneficiaries and visitors who came.
The visit began with a tour of the visitor and patient entrance at the Dompet Dhuafa RST Hospital building, then continued through the hospital corridors to the Qatar Charity Hospital building. Next, the Dompet Dhuafa team invited Qatar Charity to tour the rooms in the Qatar Charity Hospital building while explaining their functions and benefits for the beneficiaries of the waqf assets. Several times, Qatar Charity greeted the medical staff to find out more details about the benefits of each waqf facility. The visit then continued with a discussion about the further benefits of Qatar Charity’s health waqf assets for the community.

Director of Medical Services at Qatar Charity Hospital, Dr. Rima, MARS, explained that since the opening of health services and treatment at Qatar Charity Hospital, to date, Qatar Charity Hospital has served 8,798 patients who are beneficiaries from the poor and those in need. These beneficiaries not only come from residents around the hospital, but also some from outside the area.
Not limited to providing free treatment when someone is sick, as is done by the RST Dompet Dhuafa Hospital, Qatar Charity Hospital expands its benefits with various other services. These include providing health advocacy services, comprehensive medical services, the latest medical technology, and mobile medical services where doctors visit patients at home.
“As we all hoped when this hospital was built, all underprivileged patients who come to Qatar Charity Hospital do not need to spend any money at all, meaning it is free of charge,” emphasized Dr. Rima.

General Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Waqf Bobby P Manullang added that waqf assets, both hospital buildings and medical equipment, are integrated with zakat, infaq, and alms funds in a productive manner. This way, poor patients who come to this waqf hospital receive free medical treatment and health services. According to him, Dompet Dhuafa will continue to strive to develop this hospital so that more underprivileged people will be helped.
Responding to the excellent operation of the Qatar Charity Hospital and the tangible benefits felt by the community, Salman Hussain Abdul-Ridha Al-Shaknani, a donor to Qatar Charity, expressed his high appreciation to Dompet Dhuafa. He hopes that Dompet Dhuafa will continue to steadfastly carry out this mandate.
“We are very happy that this hospital is able to provide many benefits to the poor who have difficulty accessing healthcare. Hopefully, it will continue to provide benefits and expand its reach,” he said. (Dompet Dhuafa / Muthohar)
