JAKARTA – In the month of Ramadan 2025, Dompet Dhuafa through the Indonesian Community Resources Foundation (YSMI) brought happiness to the residents of Cawang Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta. The area, which was recently hit by a major flood in early March, was the location for the blessed Ramadan 1446 H Village Sweep Program.
Al Hidayah Mosque on Jalan Tanjung Sanyang RT 06/RW 08 became the center of activities that took place on Thursday (03/21/2025). Since early morning, various services and social activities have been prepared to help ease the burden on residents affected by the flood.

The Ramadan Village Sweep Program began with an environmental clean-up action involving the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Institution (LPM). Then, residents can take advantage of the free health screening services from the Dompet Dhuafa Free Health Service (LKC) to check their health condition.
For residents whose vehicles have been affected by flooding, the Dompet Dhuafa Institute of Independence (IK) provides free motorcycle servicing. It is recorded that 120 motorcycles have received free servicing. Meanwhile, the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Centre (DMC) provides disaster mitigation education to increase residents’ preparedness for future disasters.

Khaerudin (67), one of the beneficiaries of the free motorcycle service, also expressed his gratitude. He admitted that the assistance was provided because his motorcycle was submerged in the flood and damaged.
“The water is already high, one and a half meters, the motorcycle is already submerged. Indeed, this flood is not only a lot of expenses, but also tiredness and body aches. I just pushed it to the IK workshop. Thank you very much Dompet Dhuafa, the oil and spark plugs were replaced, thank God it was very relieving and beneficial,” said Khaerudin.

Not to be outdone, hundreds of children around the mosque also participated in the intensive Islamic boarding school organized by the Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) in collaboration with MD TV. The cheerful and energetic atmosphere was evident from the faces of the children who enthusiastically participated in the activity.
Towards iftar time, the LPM Mobile Kitchen (Darling) together with Chef Bukhori, a graduate of Master Chef Indonesia 5, prepared special dishes for breaking the fast together. A total of 300 servings of food were distributed to the residents of Tanjung Sanyang.

The activity continued with a speech delivered by Ustaz Ahmad Shonhaji as Director of YSMI, who invited residents to get to know the figure of the Prophet Muhammad more closely. In addition, Dompet Dhuafa also provided donations to orphans, the elderly, and the poor as a form of care and support for them.
Akbar, Coordinator of Grebek Kampung Ramadan 1446 H Dompet Dhuafa, explained that Grebek Kampung is a term for ‘sweeping’ kindness in the month of Ramadan, which means that there are many programs presented in a region or village.
“We chose this location because it was affected by the recent Jakarta floods. We hope that this assistance can have a positive impact and benefit the community here. This program is an effort to spread kindness in the month of Ramadan, especially for residents who are experiencing difficulties due to the floods,” he said.
